If OBAMA WINS IT WOULD DIMINISH THE PRESTIGE OF THE PRESIDENCY
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 05:14 PM by UK populist
These are the words that Bitch Palin said on Laura (Rabid) Ingraham’s show.

This needs to be absolutely stopped dead now. The Obama campaign has to get Mccain on live tv prime time denouncing this blatantly Racist statement and kick her of the ticket. She should then be impeached or whatever else it takes to get her out of a position of power.

Thanks to Jackbauer8393 on Daily Kos here is the

48. If it doesn't get denounced quickly what will it lead to
I don't have a vote in this election being a Brit, but I fear to where this could lead if it is not stopped now. I know this might sound tinfoil hat like, but I am starting to believe this is an extremely coordinated tactic of vilifying Obama so much that if and when the election is stolen and everyone goes to the streets there will be a very angry part of the populace willing to believe anything that Bush tells them. Their base is getting very riled against Obama and if they are going to steal the election they will need it out on the streets counteracting and fighting with the legitimate protesters. This will then give the Admin the excuse they will need to put down the riots with any force. They already have control of the media to a degree that no liberal voices will be allowed on the airwaves if this happens.

Like I said before this is an extreme theory, but I wouldn't doubt them of being capable of anything to retain power.

73. I share your tinfoil.
I believe the Republican Party has become a dire threat to the Constitution of the United States. If they keep power this year, I believe we will have a one-party dictatorship with only a token opposition party (if the token opposition party is allowed to survive).

I agree that the Republicans are capable of doing anything to keep power. They now appear to be willing to do anything, and that is the source of my concern.

a reason that fits into their battle plan.

Palin is not just spouting off. She's getting this from the campaign. They want a feeding frenzy and they're getting it.

We need some shark repellent.

..even though several people went on record saying that she was quite racist (charming, vindictive, and racist.) I found no reason why a native alaskan waitress would just come up with such a detailed story about her and talk to a major journalist in LA about it.

I have no doubt she is racist. Alaska has a major problem with racism and sexism.

49. OMG - what a horrific person she is. She and McCain are equally hateful.
I was reading a comment from DKOS's link, and a guy posted that his friend was at the last McCain/Palin rally and the conversations in the crowd were... well... more vile than anything they were shouting. McCain and Palin have managed to attract the lowest common denominator, and have given free license to the religious extremists, the marginally mentally healthy, and the racists. They are allowing the racism to flow freely because their ENTIRE game plan right now is to CREATE DOUBT about Obama.

They are courting the Bradley effect, and their specialty is creating doubt... making people hesitate in the voting booth "can we really trust him? "who IS Barack Obama?" "what is he hiding?" "what will he do to America?" etc. etc. etc. They are courting the scum of the earth by dragging Obama down into the mud. Just as they did with Kerry's war hero reputation.

The ASSHOLES that run McCain's campaign, like the campaigns of Bush, Chambliss, and others, don't care about the damage the are doing to the Country. We need each other now more than ever.. and since Newt Gingrich and Jerry Falwell started their attacks on our unity, they are dividing us more than ever. I SO wish I could find enough kindness in my heart to turn the other cheek right now, but I can't. they have gone scorched earth.

While she makes such a ludicrous charge, she herself remains one of the least qualified vice presidential candidates either party has ever nominated to the office. Coming from one like that, perhaps we should not be surprised at anything she says. I have not met a woman I felt so little respect for as I do for Mrs. Palin.

This country has just seen and suffered from the absolute worst pResident in it's entire history.

For Christ's sake, these people have some serious mental issues.

78. There's no prestige right now
Sorry Saran, err I mean Sarah, but lil Dubbie's done wrung all the prestige outta the Presidency and Senator Obama has no other option but restoring it simply because he is Not George Bush.

But he will do more. Restoration of rights stolen, alliances stomped away from, our reputation for standing on the side of justice all but ruined, and America's faith in itself.

And that should only take until February. ;)

79. Holy irony batman!
 She of all the fucking people to talk about bringing the prestige of a public office down.

She'd brings down the prestige of a fucking swamp just by wading into it.

What's next? Is she gonna say something even dumber like..."Russia shouldn't invade a sovereign nation, it's just wrong for a big nation to pick on a small, weak, one" or something?

81. "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government"
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 07:18 PM by Leopolds Ghost
Palin and her husband got started in politics in the Secessionist/Survivalist
Alaska Independence Party. Here's what the founder of AIP had to say:

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government,
and I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'll be buried in Dawson, and when Alaska is
an independent nation, they can bring my bones home, back to my country...

You renounce allegiance, and you pledge your efforts, your effects, and your life to Alaska,
that's how I do. I am an Alaskan, you see."

Here's another quote:

"Our current governor, who I mentioned the last conference, the one we were hoping
would get elected, Sarah Palin, did get elected. ... You should infiltrate -- I know
that the Christian Exodus is in favor of it, the free state movement is in favor of it.
Put the Republican label on it to get elected. That's all there is to it."

Feel free to use this when responding to Palin's insults -- if you don't plan on using this,
why bother attacking her at all?

82. I agree, Obama just doesn't have the eloquence that bush does
nor the orator skills either. How can Obama match the class of Bush.
Whether Bush is kissing Arabic Kings, or making jokes with the Queen of England. All heads of state, are in awe of his brilliance and sophistication.
Rubbing the shoulders of the Chancellor of Germany. Speaking words of wisdom to Tony Blair when a mike was left turned on. (Something about wanting another coke.)
Or passing important notes of relevance to Condoleeza Rice at UN meetings.
By asking the president of Brazil at one time if there were blacks there too, George Bush proved that he is an inquisitive and thought provoking man. He likes to learn. He didn't know who the president of Pakistan was in his early years, and now he knows.
"is our children learning" is not his mantra any more. No he has corrected his grammar and has made himself prestigious.
He is a shining example to all. It's not too late for Obama to catch up though. There's hope yet.

87. The right has opted for a campaign of destruction to follow Obama into office
If people will recall, the right was trying to impeach Clinton even BEFORE he took office

If they can't win it...they'll make it a hostile environment for Obama.

The Congressional GOP will be hostile as well

right-wing pundits, right-wing talk radio...the usual suspects....for 4 years....nothing but attack.

Working their racist/bigoted base into a frenzy is very much part of that....esepcially a campaign of hate this close to the election .....nothing to lose but the election...unleash the hate...rile the haters.....and let it carry over to and after election day
