BILLIONAIRE BAILOUT: Bush personally lobbied wavering House members -- Why?
Edited on Sat Oct-04-08 12:30 PM by dailykoff
What do you know, the Boy King himself was busy dialing for dollars last week to help out his good buds at AIG and Goldman Sachs:

President George W. Bush, whose administration originated the bailout proposal, made ``very productive'' phone calls to wavering lawmakers this morning, his spokesman said. Spokesman Tony Fratto said Bush talked to some lawmakers who had switched positions and the administration was ``optimistic'' the measure would pass.

Bruce Josten, the top lobbyist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, told reporters he met with Bush today, and the president ``pulled out a list his staff had given him'' of lawmakers to call.

And I'm sure it's just a BIG coincidence that these two particular beneficiaries were deeply involved in 911:

Democratic Underground Demopedia reports in Who Killed John O’Neill that at the time of 9/11, AIG, the world’s largest insurance company, and subsidiaries Marsh McLennan, ACE and Kroll, were run by the Greenberg family. With Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member Maurice “Hank” Greenberg as the AIG godfather, the Familia’s tentacles curled around the heart of the tragedy.

Hank’s son Jeffrey, a CFR member as well, was chairman of Marsh & McLennan, situated on floors throughout the North Tower of the World Trade Center as well as the top floors of the South Tower. Marsh also had ties to the CIA. Son Evan Greenberg, a CFR member, was CEO of ACE Limited, situated in Tower 7, which also contained AIG subsidiary Kroll, closely related to the CIA, also with an office in Tower 7.

Goldman Sachs also received a $1.65 billion government-backed "Liberty Bond," funded by the $20 billion in 9/11 relief that Hillary secured for New York.

But never mind, the bill is now law, and it's time to look to the FUTURE!!! :sarcasm:

3. The way I see it: We're bailing out the failed Bush administration
When the housing market was going strong, and real estate was valued at the most outrageous prices ever, there was already discussion and projections as to when the mortgage house of cards would come tumbling down...and the Bush admin. did nothing to ward against this.

Bush has fucked up and failed in every capitalist business venture he's every touched, even remotely, and this time it's no different.

Bush fucked our nation. He should be made to pay for his criminal neglect of the country, its economy, and all the predatory lenders, bank moguls and Wall St. fuckers should be taken down, too.

When will the insanity stop when it comes to running roughshod over our country's citizens?

Hopefully, President Obama can help make things turn around.

6. Yes and no.
Yes, we're once again enabling Bushco crimes under the falsest of pretenses, but no, I don't think it's a case of an incompetent SNAFU.

They've known all along exactly where their junk derivatives were going (they're bankers) and they've know all along their asses would be saved by Congress, with a little muscle applied by the Trickster-in-Chief if necessary.

So the Bushco players are conveniently propped up while the rug is pulled out from under the competition, buh bye Lehman Brothers. It now appears that JP Morgan manipulated their collateral reserves to push them over the brink.

Sorry fellas, it's just old fashioned American fascism I mean capitalism.

10. I agree.
"Mission Accomplished"

The meltdown wasn't a "crisis" that suddenly happened without warning last Friday.

It was manufactured.
The timing was perfect.

The AIG deal stinks on its own. AIG and Marsh are both up to their eyeballs in shady stuff.

Woo hoo! Poppy's Carlyle Group will benefit, through its partnership with a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland, which is getting a big chunk of this cash. George was just nailing down enuf for the Bush Trust Fund with his phone calls.

I wonder if these are the same conversations where congressmen were threatened with the imposition of martial law in America? Was that the "deal"?

:::If you don't sign this bill, America will be under martial law.:::

Was that it, George?

The motto of the Carlyle-Coutts bank partnership is "One world, one mission, one partnership." Does that scare ya?

Bush working the phones, Cheney on the Hill, past history of anthrax attacks, mention of possible martial law--anybody see a pattern here?

8. lobbyist for the Mortgage Bankers Association
McCain Aide's Husband Headed Trade Group Lobbying on Bailout

Nancy Pfotenhauer, a senior economic adviser to McCain, has been all over the airwaves in recent days touting McCain's decision to "suspend" his campaign over the bailout.

But her husband, Kurt Pfotenhauer, worked until late last year as the top lobbyist for the Mortgage Bankers Association, a trade group that in recent years downplayed fears of a housing bubble, only to be proved spectacularly wrong.

It looks there's another John McCain adviser with a personal background that doesn't exactly jibe with the candidate's recent effort to portray himself as a populist crusader for ordinary folks.

Last week in Green Bay, McCain declared: "At the center of the problem were the lobbyists, politicians, and bureaucrats who succeeded in persuading Congress and the administration to ignore the festering problems at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac."

13. People jumped out of those buildings hoping for a better solution.
A 90 year-old lady who was being evicted shot herself thinking it was a better solution.

The little people are suffering from plans that we are not a part of as designers or beneficiaires.

We are enablers of the plan.

They had a 40+ year plan that they worked out with the USSR and the People's Republic of China involving many projects, one of them being little people equalization. For the purpose of maximizing profits. Call it one world order reached through one world equalization (and religion?) and it involves the entire world, not just the old USSR or the People's Republic. Besides using us for their plan, they need to control us while those (little people in other countries) that didn't have what he had, catch up, and while we (U.S.) lose across the board while we lose what we had for the greater glory of equalization. The ability to have a say will diminish, but the ability to earn something in order to be taxed will be retained. Since one of the main purposes of their project is to control and distribute expenses to maximize profits, the playing field for the most industrialized will widen while waiting for the poorest of the poor to catch up which will happen with their interim jobs - being world wide police and prison guards.

Their plan to tip our (U.S.) little people's wealth to the others and to end up with controls that would create a world wide manufacturing and sales bonanza was placed into effect a few decades ago. Example - little people unions with big power had to be dismantled and closed down. Still in the process.

And that's where we are. None of these people ever told us that we would benefit from the invasion of Iraq (whether it was called an invasion or a war). And there is no plan to tell us about the benefits to us or to them for their new plan for us - as long as we are contained and submissive. It will be done by making us think that we are still working for ourselves and our family and can still consume - until we finally all see through it - a long time coming, but getting closer.

The next step in continued mini steps is a maximum application to get into an accelerated stage of conversion - possibly through martial law - get us used to the controls and tie up certain things like the final dissolution of the unions while keeping us happy in a suspended state of some satisfaction.

We got stuck with the five s's or we may have seen it earlier - shopping, sports, serials, slouching on a couch, plus state of the art electronics.

Get up, stand up, wake up. Try to see it. We got used to the propaganda and we have morphed more and more into their design. The last ten years, however, have been a jolt. Perhaps not everything went smoothly for them and we woke up a little. If we're going to go through it, we might as well see it.

We (in the U.S.) are coming out of a 40+ year stupor. We gave ourselves too much credit for being technologically superior. We saw what happened - they took our plants, our jobs, our technology and shipped it, traded it, sold it. We had a big blinders and we self-blinded ourselves. We helped them get to where they are.

The pivot point - talks and agreements with the enemy (USSR and the People's Republic and accelerated friendships with India). The original enemies are still prmoted as the enemy whenever it fits a purpose and certain little people still see the original enemy as today's enemy which has a tnedency to spread - hate of groups.

The real war is between the people with the plan and the little people who are part of the plan holders. Some of us are perfect for the plan, some not so much. In general, little people have a lot in common.

A dramatic sense of it all is unfolding.

14. They're too grand to help out Leona Helmsley's "little people", never
mind bail them out. Go the assistance of the orphan and the widow? Don't make them laugh....

To paraphrase a Mafia snitch, "You mix with a better class of people" on Capitol Hill.

15. I think their attitude is basically the fewer eaters the better,
particularly if they vote Dem or have any potential legal claim against any GOP-linked corporate interes (asbestos mines for example).

It's a very 1920s robber-baron kind of idea, and in certain sectors (Texas oil boys for example) it's still going strong. Thus we have Katrina, Iraq, and I'm afraid, 911 -- innocents slaughtered by the thousands, entire countries rendered toxic for generations by depleted uranium and other reprehensible weaponry. For them depopulation is a win-win.

17. And the phone call went something like this...
"Remember when I said 'Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. Until that day accept this justice as a gift on my daughter's wedding day', yeah, that day has arrived lawmaker guy."
