People swooping to buy up stocks low. They'll sell them off again before the end of the day or within a few days.

5. A 9.1% Loss on the NASDAQ
is completely out of range. There's usually a bounceback from any overreation like that. A lot of it may just be traders looking for a one-day trade.

Fear indicators like the VIX were at the highest levels I've ever seen. Those extremes always precede a reversal.

No one knows how long it will last -- it could just be the day. In fact, beginning tomorrow the market will likely be controlled by news and technical indicators will be useless.

I actually bought some shares of a NASDAQ ETF near the end of the day trying to make up for some of yesterday's losses.
