8. Yeah, we are all holding our collective breaths.
Or as Jay Leno said last night: Bush has come out with his economic reform package. And phase on of that package involves his leaving on Jan 20 2009.

13. I bank with Chase
I have 2 credit card accounts with them. I went in to pay one down to zero 8 months ago. Then I got a bill saying that they hadn't put my last months charges on the payoff and I owed 29 bucks plus late fees. In spite of my arguing, I had to pay it. That was 5 or 6 months ago. Then, last week, I got another 29 dollar charge on the account saying they had forgotten a late fee. I went to the bank, and it was really hard to keep my cool. I said it was robbery pure and simple. They made some calls and had the charge removed. I hate banks, doctors, lawyers, and republicans. (not hate, strongly dislike)

14. Yes, my piggybank is perfectly OK.
All right, maybe the plastic is chipped a little around the trap door -- but it will still hold money, so long as I leave the tape alone -- the tape that holds the trap door on.

;-)

I haven't heard anything bad & they managed to avoid the mortgage mess, but I'm still a little worried.

19. If you have less than 100K per account (200K for joint account)
in an FDIC bank, you are fine...BUT

if your bank is in receivership/on the auction block/or taken over by the FDIC, it "may" close temporarily, or have long lines , or layoffs..

the hassle-factor may be the only impact you will feel..

we did remove our money from waMu, because I pay bills online, and was afraid that if they actually closed the place down for a few days, our payments might get waylaid in the process, or the online banking might have been disrupted during the switch-over..

we did NOT fear "losing" the money..
