Hillary skips protest against Iran at UN because Sarah is there. Oopse!
Reuters reports Hillary pulled out of the protest against Ahmadinejad because she wasn't told Palin was going to be there.

"Clinton adviser Philippe Reines said the New York senator would not be attending.

'(Palin's) attendance was news to us, and this was never billed to us as a partisan political event,' he said in an e-mail.

Campaigners for Alaska Gov. Palin and Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain reacted swiftly to Clinton's decision.

'Governor Palin believes that the danger of a nuclear Iran is greater than party or politics,' said Tracey Schmitt, a spokeswoman for the McCain-Palin campaign.

'She hopes that all parties can rally together in opposition to this grave threat.'"

What grave threat? Is Ahamdinejad bringing his nukes to the UN?

But this is a good chance for Palin to meet some world leaders!

Reuters:

"This would give Palin a chance meet a few world leaders on the day President George W. Bush and one of his main foes, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, address the 192 U.N. member states."

Highly doubtful. What world leader would want to hand her a photo-op like that not knowing who will eventually wind up in the WH?

Maybe, Ahamdinejad will give her a peck on the cheek?

3. Exactly. Why should Palin determine her schedule?
I'll say it again: Hillary is not a leader.

7. OK, then I'll say it again: Hillary is a great leader who would have been one of the best
presidents this country has ever had.

There is no need to trash a public official who half the party voted for.

8. Not trashing her.
Just saying. A leader wouldn't care who the hell was there if it was the right thing to do.

9. A leader won't do what would have been nothing short of a political stunt...
That's all this was and Hillary knew it.

12. Maybe Obama asked her not to go....the image of them together might be misconstrued by some voters.
Hillary is avoiding direct attacks on Palin, less the media portray it as a "girl-fight." Besides, you don't shoot down--it's better to hit McCain.

We don't know what factors went into her decision to cancel, or who may have asked her to.

A real leader will have the same position regardless of whether they go to a rally or not--Hillary hasn't changed her position, just her schedule.

This "meet & greet" was done as well as it could have ever been done.....on SNL..

No need for her to be "used" as a photo-op..She has better things to do.. and if anyone attending wants to really compare her record to Mrs. Moose's , and finds her lacking, then they have no brains :)

6. I wish Hillary pulled out because she didn't want to saber-rattle against Iran...again.
Especially since Obama's our nominee and HE is against saber-rattling Iran. Every Dem making appearances the next 2 months should show 100% support for the nominee and his positions.

at this event together, a lot of people would say she's shilling for the Republicans because they picked a woman to be on the ticket. In reality, if you think about it, that's probably why she pulled out. Hillary Clinton (and President Bill Clinton) both support Obama for President, not McCain, remember? It would look bad if she did attend an event with Palin, right now especially. Trust me on that one.

11. Is that really what happened? It seems to me ...
... that maybe Clinton was never really ever going to be there (or dropped out for other reasons), so the GOP prop up their Hairdo to say Hairdo's going to "protest" something and then claim Hillary backed out because of her.

Why do we take the word of the GOP-controlled media?

But Clinton adviser Philippe Reines said the New York senator would not be attending.

"(Palin's) attendance was news to us, and this was never billed to us as a partisan political event," he said in an e-mail.

Is that all Reines wrote? What exactly was he asked? Also, that does not look like Clinton dropped out because of Hairdo.

Why do we take the word of the GOP-controlled media?
