The American people NEED to be educated about the distinctions between unfettered capitalism (or fascism) and "democracy", and how each relates to the other.

The only good thing is, many of those invested in the ABSOLUTE GREED associated with unfettered capitalism will suffer losses of their extra-extra home and 2nd boat and 6th car.

HA!

On edit: the good hardly matches the suffering to middle-class, especially older-retired folks. :(

9. It's a publicly insured entity basically ran by private (profiteering) companies.
The government IS THE PEOPLE,...in a democracy.

So, why is privatization ALWAYS GOOD,...in a democracy?

13. But WE are being FORCED TO FINANCE BAD DEBTS!!! So,...
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 07:53 PM by sicksicksick_N_tired
,...what's the point?

The fed is printing money on which WE PAY INTEREST? Add that to being OPPRESSED WITH PRIVATE CORPORATE DEBT and that leaves the American people in,...economic SLAVERY!

Doesn't it? Aren't we talking about economic slavery? The American people aren't CHOOSING to be economically enslaved to corporations, are they? The all-powerful economic branch has ENSLAVED the American people to corporate debt.

Isn't that what is happening?

Correct me if I am wrong!

17. no, it's not, no matter how often gold bug newsletters repeat this idiotic claim
it's part of the government, it was created by the government, and it could be disolved by the government with the stroke of a pen.

Can we petition Congress to declare the neocons as a terrorist organization?

On edit: I know what I express sounds pretty extreme; however, the neocons are responsible for so much destruction (physical, economical and psychological) of democratic principles and human rights and moral basics and fundamental laws because they have pursued a political ideology, without reservation. My understanding of "terrorism" (according to THIS executive's definition) perfectly matches the behaviors of THIS administration, in my opinion.

12. I hope and pray that one day real soon the people
of this country,... repubs, dems, indies, have kind of a mass epiphany of sorts and see clearly that we're being systematically robbed by the manipulators and shysters of Wall Street, the MIC and the neo-con government enablers who are letting them fleece Americans as well as America herself. Wake up and grab the tar and feathers.

14. If McCain says the economy is sound one more time......
I AM GOING TO GO OUT ON MY BACK DECK AND SCREAM MY LUNGS OUT.

My husband found out that his company will be shutting down next week because it's too expensive to run. He is salary so he will continue to receive his check but the hourly people are out of luck. This is the 3rd company that my husband has worked for that has closed its door since Bush took office. Unfricking believable. I pray that this shut down is just temporary. They've offered him the same job at their main office in Argentina. Maybe it's time to change hemispheres?
