This is what happens when you start using public airwaves to call people "maggots" and "cockroaches"
On his Wednesday KBYR AM 700 radio show, Eddie Burke called members of ... to call Alaska Women (who) Reject Palin "baby-killing maggots". ...

Trial of Rwandan 'hate radio' organizers adjourned

The three are accused of using the media to whip up ethnic hatred against Tutsis and moderate Hutus and publishing lists of names of people who should be killed.

"You cockroaches must know you are made of flesh. We won't let you kill. We will kill you," RTLM declared in a typical broadcast in the weeks before the genocide began on April 7, 1994.

In June, Belgian journalist Georges Ruggiu pleaded guilty to direct and public incitement to commit genocide for urging the extermination of Tutsis while working for the RTLM. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

1. This is what I've been afraid of....
...since I saw the fervor with which the religious right responded to Palin. This has potential to be all kinds of bad, even if we win this election.

dividing this country even more than Bush/Cheney. The addition of Ms Palin has opened up a whole new can of worms and maggots.

17. What A Pig - And Liar, Of Course He Wanted
to have his dumbed down listeners to call and reiterate the maggot, baby killer message. Hiding behind a microphone like so many others that dominate wingnut radio airwaves. Glad his rally petered out like his limp dick hiding somewhere between those fat thighs.

4. Threats From Palinista's - Anti-Palin rally organizers receive threats
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 11:22 PM by otohara

ANCHORAGE, Alaska-- Opponents of Gov. Sarah Palin's policies are being threatened.

Alaska Women Reject Palin, a local group that opposes the Republican vice presidential candidate, on Wednesday announced plans to host an anti-Palin rally this weekend.

Since that announcement organizers say they've received intimidating messages.

A press release for the Reject Palin rally went out to practically every media outlet in town Wednesday. And one talk radio host decided to share the names and phones numbers of the two contacts on-air.

That decision has left organizers feeling somewhat fearful of practicing their First Amendment rights.

KBYR talk radio host Eddie Burke admits he is a conservative and a "Palinista."

But on Wednesday Burke resorted to name calling when he found out Alaska Women Reject Palin planned to host a Saturday rally.

"They're a bunch of socialist maggots, that's what I'm going to call them -- socialist maggots, that's what they are, a bunch of socialist baby-killing maggots," said Burke.

On Thursday Burke pulled back, a little.

"Yesterday, I was probably a little over the top," he said.

The talk show host encouraged listeners to call the two women listed on the press release, which he calls a public document.

Burke says he released the information across the airwaves because organizers had included their contact numbers in the press release.

But some listeners ended up making abusive threats toward the two rally organizers.

One message said, in part, "You liberals need to get a life. What is wrong with you? You think you speak for everybody? You don't speak for nobody but your individual, stupid selves."

An organizer of the rally said the message "shocked" her. Channel 2 News is not publishing or broadcasting the name of this organizer.

"I was honestly shocked because I couldn't believe that a member of the media would take information that I think is pretty standard in a press release and use it for what seems like pretty unethical purposes, for one thing," the organizer said.

This organizer and another woman have voicemail boxes "full of messages," they say, thanks to Burke.

in some sort of meaningful way, I'd suggest we write to them - but alas...until the FCC has more dems nothing will be done, another reason why McCain/Palin must be defeated.

Needless to say he didn't get even as much as a slap on the wrist from the BushCo FCC.

10. The Telecommunications Act of 96
is the one bill I wish Clinton had never signed. I worked in radio from 93 to 2000 and saw how the FCC looked the other way on all sorts of issues when it came to complaints. The notion of the airwaves belonging to the people was a joke after that bill went into effect.

7. I'm proud to be a baby-killing maggot!
Let's see...I've never had an abortion, I've never encouraged anyone to have an abortion, I strongly feel that contraception should be used to PREVENT women from having to decide on abortion, but I'm a baby killer.

Typical insane neo-con diseased thinking.

9. Maniacs like him, Limbaugh, and pals
are going to incite civil war in this country.

Has the country EVER been this divided since the actual Civil War? With two large groups of people, drawing a line in the sand and taking sides like this? With so much venom and hate fueling it? Maybe during the civil rights movement in the 60s?

It's frightening. Really frightening.

18. Yer Welcome...
Its a FOX Radio station, just in case you hadn't noticed.
http://www.kbyr.com/

I publish that info in full confidence that, unlike folks at KBYR,
DUers at all times conduct themselves in a lawful manner, would never make
more than one call, raise their voice, or use obscenity or threats,
but would confine themselves to expressing their "dissapointment" in
the management (names) of KBYR and its apparent policy of employing
and defending those who incite threats and violence. It is entirely
proper form to close by wishing them a nice day. :)

If only they knew that there is no first amendment right
to incite others to violence and threats and, contrary to what the Chief of Police
has told victims, the inciter is accessory to the crime, and equally
culpable, as are those who aid and abet. Lamentably, their ignorance of the law
is heading them into a lot of trouble.

I also note that Eddie ( a high school dropout) has a poll question on his site:
"Should Trooper Wooten be fire (sic) for tazering his own child?"

Maybe DU should have poll questions too:
"Should disgraced whack-jock Eddie Burke of KBYR AM radio Alaska be fired for
incitement of violence and other acts of criminal stupidity?"
"Should Eddie's boss be fired for complicity?"
"Should the KBYR station license be yanked?"
"If you put lipstick on a pig, does it still oink?"

13. Baby-Killing
Edited on Sun Sep-14-08 10:14 AM by Poseidan
Everyone who calls abortion 'baby-killing' are making permanent fools out of themselves. They will go on record for the rest of their lives, under the category 'morons'.

While we're killing babies by aborting flawed pregnancies, let's also kill astronauts by aborting flawed space missions.
