2. Gas in Michigan has skyrocketed too.
I just listened to the governor saying that most of our supply comes from refineries in the the Midwest and that only 18% of the refineries in the nation are being affected by the hurricane. She also said that the state will prosecute stations that are gouging. They have provided a hot line so consumers can call and report.

3. Thanks for posting that.
I was gonna fill up tomorrow after work, I'm almost out. So I went to the QT in Riverside to fill up just now instead.

The same gas that was $3.42 this morning is now 3.59, God only knows what it'll be tomorrow.

BTW, oil went UNDER $100/bbl today. Fucking oil companies.

5. Is that the QT across the street from The Corner Restaurant?
I LOVE that place. Still can't believe Bush ate there and only had a biscuit. Dumbass.

6. Yes, that's the one.
I ate there several years ago. After I moved here a couple years ago, I went back about a month before the liar Bush was there. I actually thought it was kinda touristy, and probably wouldn't have gone back. Food wasn't bad, but I-Hop or Waffle House are just as good.

I got stuck in the traffic the morning Bush went there. Had no idea he would be there, or I'd have walked over & held up a FU type sign. That whole trip across KC, at rush hour, and towing all those cars is so shameful.

After finding out they hosted a war criminal, I'll never go back. I called them and told them so. They didn't seem to care. . .

Someday I'm gonna have to check out Deb's Diner on the other corner & see if it's good.

9. We eat there a lot

It is a great restaurant and I won't hold it against them that the prez was there. It would be hard to turn down the chance for the free publicity. I didn't blame the guy at all.

But we did mention when we went there a month or so after bush was there that we were revolted by him being there and the waitress said none of the wait staff was happy to have him there.

Here is the sign my friend held in front of the motorcade. Bush drove right past him and most likely saw it:

10. God, I wish I'd seen that one

It would have made being late to work worthwhile.

BTW, congratulations for getting mentioned by name on Thom Hartmann's show last week. He read your quote on the difference between black underage unwed mothers and white Republican underage mothers.

7. Check your state's laws about price gouging.
At least 13 states — Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia — have laws that specifically address price gouging in the event of a declared emergency. Other states may exercise authority under general deceptive trade practice laws depending on the nature of the state law and the specific circumstances under which price increases occur.

http://www.kipesquire.net/2005/09/which-states-have-pri... /

NC and AL have put laws into effect. Call if someone is gouging. It may not help immediately, but it may stop it some.

Save your receipts. Inform the places where you get gas you are reporting them. Report it now so it won't keep skyrocketing.

It won't help the immediate supply but it should help with the price.
