Obama attracts crowds of a hundred thousand or so while McCain attracts crowds in the hundreds. McCain is desperate to be able to talk in front of a large group of people. Obama would make it happen if they were to travel together and speak together at joint events. It seems to be McCains biggest whine lately. Obama won't let him tag along..

5. Yesterday evening I caught part of a show on PBS
with Charlie Rose, Johnathan Alter and Paul Begala. Charlie Rose asked what they thought Obama could have done different so far and Johnathan Alter said he thought Obama made a big mistake not accepting the Townhall Meetings. He said that the problem Obama has is Democrats know him from all the debates they had in the primaries but that's not the votes he needs in the General Election. He said the Townhall Meetings would have given him exposure so undeciced voters would get to know him better. He said the more people see him and get used to him the more they like him. I agree with that, once people see him a few times and compare him to John McCain they will see he is not the devil the Repugs claim he is. I think Charlie Rose and Paul Begala pretty much agreed with his comment.
