Cindy McCain's $300,000 Outfit -- Elitist?
http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/09/cindy_mccains_300000_conventio.php

Vanity Fair tallied up the cost of Cindy McCain's outfit on her night at the GOP convention:

Oscar de la Renta dress: $3,000
Chanel J12 White Ceramic Watch: $4,500

Three-carat diamond earrings: $280,000

Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000-$25,000

Shoes, designer unknown: $600

Total: Between $299,100 and $313,100

(end snip)

Someone, ask her how many outfits does she own? I am waiting for her answer. This would pay my wages for several years. Just for an outfit. Where are her priorities? Eh?

2. She's just one of us. No one feels our pain more than Cindy and John McCain...
...oh wait...

I'm confusing my elites. That was Laura and George Bush who feel our pain. Cindy and John just go to one of their vacation homes to escape the pain and suffering of life in America.

Yeah, they're one of us. Ready to lead and fix the problems because they have so much *EXPERIENCE* in dealing with the same things all the rest of us poor dolts face every day, thanks to the Republicans. :eyes:

PATHETIC.

No fault there?

6. Silly-- don't you know elitism has nothing to do with vast wealth?
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 11:12 AM by Marr
It has to do with your vocabulary, what books you read, etc.

My old dad who drove a street sweeper for 30 years was an elitist, you see, because he read books and had a problem with class privilege. Republicans can never be an elites, by definition.

10. no offense...
but $280K for the earrings makes some huge assumptions about the diamonds and begs the question, was it 3 for the pair or 3 each?

good looking clothes for her daughter:
