At least he didn't pick Clinton
Thank God!

I think Biden, while maybe not the best pick he could've made, is still not a bad pick. Biden is a straight talker, which can get him into trouble, yes, but America wants straight talk right now.

The main problem I see here is that Biden is not exactly a flaming liberal. Over the weeks we have seen Obama slowly pandering to the right wing and his VP pick seems to be consistent with that. I've never seen Obama as very liberal in the first place, given his positions on health care and guns, etc.

That being said, Biden is vice presidential material. He's not exactly unqualified for the job, and the vice presidential pick never matters to the voting public anyway.

3. I'm OK with Biden
Sure, I'd prefer to vote for a progressive ticket and this aint it, but at least he didn't pick a hidebound conservative or an antichoicer.

I think this is probably his best bet. It's not a bad choice.

5. Biden is very much a liberal
certainly further to the left than Obama himself.

I'll ignore the incredibly bizarre and ill-timed slam at Hillary for no reason, as this type of nonsense has no place in the dialogue.

Frankly --it's childish and divisive.

As good an example of "whacking the hive" as I have ever seen.

Not to be confused with "roll in a grenade and go in shooting".

11. Why bring this up again?
It's over. Biden is the VP pick, and shit like this is only going to piss those die-hard Hillary supporters off. A lot of them post here at DU and they aren't PUMA's, or if they are, they aren't those angry, screaming women the Media so loves to put on our tv's. They are liberals like you and me. Do you really want to do that when we desparately need their votes? And yes, we do need their votes in order to overcome the ugly Republican machine which includes election fraud among one of their many underhanded tactics. Well, I know I can control what I see posted at DU, so I'm off to do just that. Fuck this.

15. I read today that Clinton did not want the VP spot
and whether it was for the reason given by the author or something else, never expected to be in the running. Anyway, although I was never a Clinton supporter, I think it is time to give this all a rest unless something else happens, and let us hope nothing else negative does happen this election cycle.

27. Hillary Supporter
I was a Hillary Supporter and I must say, no Democrat would ever ever vote for McCain.

Just ignore these supporters of Obama who are so stupid they bring him down while insulting her. They are like the Republicans whose party is more important to them then their country. I know they are hard to take, I know they are non thinkers, I know how much they need their ass kicked, but don't deprive our country of good leadership because of them.

Vote for this Obama/Biden ticket. You won't be sorry.

22. What possible valid purpose could this thread serve?
I don't care for Hillary, but DAMN! It's one thing to respond to someone who starts a thread complaining about Hillary not being chosen, but it's a whole nuther thing to moon the former Hillary supporters like this.

Please move on from this. If Hillary does not come through at the convention, I'll be the first to attack her for it, but she issued a good statement on this, and it's time to let her show her bona fides, not attack her preemptively.

28. At least we know that now America is going to be safe for predatory lenders
and war profiteers. No worries about those deadbeat serfs getting any kind of welfare or a fresh start either, they will be free to toil for the rest of their lives making the super rich, super-duper rich!

Oh, and that vitally important swing state of Delaware, and it's 3 electoral votes, is now sewn up too! What a deal!

YAY!!!

The melodrama!

Is it okay to have the opinion that Hillary Clinton would've been a terrible pick, or are we not allowed to have that opinion anymore? It was one of my greatest fears, and I admit it, and I'm relieved it didn't happen, and I'm stating as such, and I make no apologies.

Like it or not, his not choosing Clinton is being talked about in the media, she still has millions of supporters who refuse to vote for him, and it is a legitimate discussion topic.
