Here is some info some might find interesting: Wal-Mart and the Government.
Now my wife told me this and this is the second time she has heard this same infomation. She came across this infomation early last week and I doubt it is true but here is the Wal-mart's main computer is the BACK UP computer for the Pentagon and Nasa. If somehow either one of those systems go down they plug into wal-mart's main computer.

Now this is where she freaks out because as she says some people are forced to shop at Wal-Mart because it is the only store around for miles. How many people use credit cards or checking accounts and with the way EVERYTHING is listed on the computerized receipts...Just how much infomation can the Government gather on us without our knowledge AND how easy is for the Pentagon to call up saying they need back up computer power or something like that and really they start looking thru infomation.

Thoughts?

How nuts is my wife to believe this ;)

1. i'm not going to comment on your wifes mental stability
but I do know the government has their computers at various facilities and various vendors all over the country. And all those companies with all those facilities have disaster recovery procedures that they will implement if the need arises. The company that I worked for, had a large government military account and their backup plans called for them to set up operations in Texas at another one of their facilities, definitely not walmart. so unless walmart is in the data processing/data storage business, I would say it's pretty far fetched.

2. I'd Be Surprised
if the WalMart Computer would have info in it that the government doesn't already have. With the possible exception of what you most frequently buy. However, go in an buy several cases of ammo and I bet they know it.
