Poll question: The Conflict in S. Ossetia: Part of the Bushie Summer Propaganda Offensive?
Edited on Sun Aug-17-08 09:57 AM by tom_paine
In 2001, a non-Bushies working amidst the Bushies on their Faith-Based Programs, a Dr. DeIlulio, bailed out in disgust and went back to Penn University. After leaving, he told Ron Susskind of his experience in the Circle of Loyal Bushies:

DeIlulio said, "Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is run by the political wing...it's the Mayberry Machiavellis".

Before the inevitable cries of "tinfoil" begin, let me ask has there been anything in the Bushie Character as revealed these last eight years to make one doubt that it is at least slightly possible?

Anyone who says there has, has not been paying attention.

I mean, the Bushies DID lie us into a war which has killed many many MANY more than have died in Ossetia.

Just like in Aug. 2006, when the Israelis ratcheted up our National Fear by Proxy, so does the Georgia-Rssian conflict. Statistically, what this means, I think, is more undecided "voters" forced into McBush's column on the "National Security Issue".

Remember, all they have to do is keep their actual margin of loss under 10% and the Bushies still "win". Or as in 2006, a landslide is turned into a much less substantial victory.

But a part of it is the Real Life Bushie News Cycle Management strategies, with verified incidents such as the trumped up "#2 al-Qaeda caught" "news" item that the Bushies released to blunt Kerry's nomination day in 2004.

You can mark it as high as a 99% certainty that a similar Bushie "item" will be released to blunt Obama's nomination and speech.

But I digress into more lengthy explanations of the big picture of Bushie Style Gestalt-Based Propaganda, when all I am asking is a simple question: Do you think that the Gergian action against S. Ossetia was either instigated or green-lighted by the Bushies as part of the Summer Propaganda Offsensive to make the "election" in November close enough to plausible steal for McBush?

Or, we could get ahead of ourselves and speculate on which summer proxy war will be heated up by the Bushies as part of their Summer Propaganda Offensives in 2010 and 2012...

Poland? S. Korea? Which in our dwindling arsenal of allies will we find after Israel in Aug. 2006 and Georgia in Aug. 2008 to play patsy for the next ones?

One wonders about the next one, even before this one is over.

Oh, and one last thing...this piece of gestalt-based propaganda will work as it has always worked, by ratcheting up the general-level of fear and "National Security Anxiety", not to mention spectres of the Cold War, because people refuse to look behind the curtain. It is an axiom of propaganda/advertising/marketing/PR that unaware people are more easily manipulated and exposure of the manipulation itself is half the battle of defeating it.

Thus the "extra-tingle of fear in the spine" on a national and statistical level, will do what it was designed to do, in part thanks to the M$M complete abrogation of it's duties and Congress' abrogation of same. It was esigned to statistically drive more real votes into Mccain's column to make November close enough to steal, this I believe.

DeIlulio again..."Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is run by the political wing...it's the Mayberry Machiavellis".

This general increase in fear-level will help keep it close enough to steal in November for the man who, I am very sorry and saddened to say, will likely be the next Emperor of Amerika, John McBush.

NOTE: I am NOT advocating we don't vote nor that we give up, I am just acknowledging the reality that things are likely too far gone and that Bushification will have to get much worse before people see through it.

2. Honestly, it seems to me they could give a shit about foreign policy or future implications.
The same way Iraq has damaged and weakened this nation in almost every way imaginable yet it has strengthened the Bushies in equal measure.

What seems to us to be bumbling is, I think, indifference or calculation.

Just like their "mishandling" of Katrina hurt them in the short-term but will turn Lousiana from a purple to a solid red state for them in the long run.

They just don't give a shit. McCain needs a boost. He needs the fear ratcheted up. I am sure there are other reasons at work here too, such as Caspian Oil, but this one aspect is paramount, or among the most paramount, I believe.

Besides, as we all know by now, the REALITY of a situation has NOTHING to do with what the American Subject Populace gets through their/our TVs. Our National Delusion is complete, so it doesn't matter that reality is exactly what you say it is.

In Totalitarian Nations, even "kinder and gentler" Inverted Totalitarianisms like our Empire, reality has very little to do with the National Dialogue.

Whatever the ACTUAL long-term outcome of the S. Ossetia Conflict, the value to the Bushies is the Cold War Bushiganda, the National Security Bushiganda, and the Fear Bushiganda...all statistical, psychologically and focus-tested winners...in a nation with no Free Press and no real Opposition Party, like our Empire.

Mission accomplished, whatever happens in the Reality-Based Community has little effect on the National mind of the Amerikan Empire and we, it's Subject Populace.

4. Part of their game plan to have McCaint stand tall
and glare at the Russians and mouth cold war idiocy, and meanwhile have the grownups work out something in the background to keep to Russians from going too far.

"Today we are all Georgians": McSame got his sound byte, 'the folks' got to see russian tanks rolling around, and the framing of 'dangerous world needs war hero mccain' continues.

Heh.

3. McCain advisor Randy Scheunemann is a lobbiest for Georgia.
Saakashvili is either a complete idiot or he knew that attacking South Ossetia would provoke a Russian respons. There is no question in my mind that this affair was lihop'd from Washington in cahoots with the McCaint campaign.
