Hope for Dem Senate race in North Carolina
A new poll conducted 8/9 - 8/11 now shows why Dole should perhaps take Chris Cole (Libertarian candidate) seriously. Dole had her work cut out already even without Cole in the mix. Now, she'll have to worry about a third party effect on her campaign who's all but certain to suck precious votes away.
Dole 46% Hagan 41% Cole 7%

1. And the DSCC is placing a $7 million ad buy on Hagen behalf
after Labor Day. Dole's days are numbered!

2. I don't mean any disrespect here, but I hate it when out of staters get involved in our elections
It quite frankly isn't any of their business. The republicans do it all the time and I can't stand it. I think the people of the state should decide and any money spent should come from people in the state.

Call me old fashioned but that's how I feel.

7. on an individual basis yes.....
but 7 million bucks from one source is a bit over the top, and serves outside interests rather than the people of NC. I've watched Dole, Helms, etc. etc. do this for too long, it's just a sore spot for me I guess.

5. It's hard for me to imagine that Dole could win
re-election. She really has done very little for constituents in her time in the Senate. I can't understand how she was elected to begin with since she hasn't lived in NC in over 30 years.

6. Talk radio in NC is pushing the Libertarians hard
Started with Ron Paul, now they've moved on to pushing for Bob Barr and Chris Cole.
