12. yeah, that is a very important story, I agree. Actually scary
and I don't care if he actually did yell and scream and hit the table, which I really don't think he did, because it is probably what I would have done if it were me.

NOBODY should be allowed to mess with the right to vote> What ever happened to just looking at the roll book, matching the name and address and the signature on the book w/the signature you have to make when you receive your ballot .

sheeze.

I have been allowed to vote w/o my voter registration card, many times. I give them my name, they find me, they ask me where I live, I tell them, I sign the book, they look at it, they give me a ballot. And I live in TEXAS for cryin out loud..in a very RED county.

6. Pfft. Those stories are the very reason I started doing this.
It angers me to no end that we can have some of the most detailed conversations about important subjects yet get so easily derailed when some "moral" offense drags the GOP-controlled media around by the short and curlies.

I know we can focus on what's important, but so far, we've been nothing more than political gossips.

24. You will have a really, really long list.
I can't even imagine how much work that would be.

Keep it to the worst POLITICAL story and . . . never mind. That, too, is an unmanageable list.

25. She hasn't said a word publicly. She almost didn't win the primary because of him. I believe the
Democratic party wanted her to retain her seat because just a few weeks ago two other Democratic women were campaigning. Of course that split their votes. Combined, if one had opposed her they would have won.

36. Other - Maryland Mayor house being stormed by police force
because someone was using his wife name and address to ship marijuana. Police used the "do no knock warrant" an a spokeswoman refused to acknowledge that such warrant exists, shoot and kill the two dogs and hand cuff the mayor and his mother in law because she "screamed."

And the police still refuses to admit that they were wrong.

46. obviously, to vote for any other choice above than # 6 is being more than just a little bit myopic
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 02:44 AM by Douglas Carpenter
My God, Russian troops are in action against a country and their army that is very closely aligned with the United States!! This obviously has the dangerous potential of spilling over into a broad regional conflict, and pitting America and Russian onto a real collision course, leading to the potential for a new cold war and new wars of proxy in a number hot hot spots.

To imagine other stories are of equal importance reminds me of the insularity of a Scottish newspaper at the time of the sinking of the Titanic which ran the headline, Glasgow Man Lost at Sea
