What makes a terrorist?

Not this guy:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/05/us/05ricin.html?ref=us

"Federal investigators said previously that they had ruled out domestic terrorism as a motive. He is white and from Utah

LAS VEGAS — A man who set off a panic in February after the deadly toxin ricin was found in his motel room near the Las Vegas Strip pleaded guilty Monday to possessing the outlawed substance....no one offered any further explanation as to why he had the ricin or what he intended to do with it.

The man, Roger Von Bergendorff, 57, accepted a deal with federal prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to possessing a biological toxin and to a charge of possession of unregistered handgun silencers. In exchange, a charge of possession of unregistered guns was dropped and prosecutors recommended a 57-month sentence.
57 months, had a WMD, illegal silencers, and illegal weapons. How long have some of the GITMO prisoners been locked up? He wasn't going to terrorize a soul, white guys can't possibly terrorize anyone.

If they had caught ole Tim McVey. with a bunch of fertilizer and diesel fuel would he get like 30 months?

2. Our policies produced terrorism
When our military bomb civilian targets for the past ten years, people were angry and retaliate with terrorism. They have no means to strike back at a powerful army by conventional means, which they don't have. So they used terror to fight them, even if it means getting innocent people in the crossfire.
