It's an unsubstantiated assertion.

No evidence has yet been produced that supports the existence of such an organ in Mr. Novak's head. I won't believe it until I see it.

10. That's not very funny.
How would you like to get your hopes up that you had a brain, only to find out your cranium was filled with air and tumors?

Perhaps they'll find his brain if they check up Karl Rove's ass?

Sucks to die as a traitor to ones country. And that stuff about a brain; hogwash! Everyone knows Novackula ate his own brain live on CNN.

18. And, no Courage either!
Didn't he spill his guts when subpoenaed by Fitzgerald's grand jury?

As I recall, as least Judith Miller spent some time behind bars for refusing to testify.

Ummmm....did Novak join her as a comrade in arms?

19. I really shouldn't. I know I shouldn't. ...I gotta: I could while away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head, I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.

I'd unravel ev'ry riddle
For any individ'le
In trouble or in pain

With the thoughts you'd be thinkin'
You could be another Lincoln,
If you only had a brain.

Oh, I could tell you why
The ocean's near the shore,
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I'd sit and think some more.

I would not be just a nuffin'
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain.
I would dance and be merry
Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a brain--Whoa!

25. I don't find this funny. In spite of his life, there are people who love him,...
,...and he, them.

My Dad died of brain cancer a little over a month ago. He wasn't the most loving or compassionate man, but,...he did the best he could with what he had,...and,...

,...well,...

In my humane opinion, it's NEVER okay to celebrate suffering or hardship no matter who bears it.

28. I think this one is on the "OK" side of the line
When Novak's diagnosis was announced, I posted to voice my disgust at the DUers who were chortling about "karma" and "payback". I completely agree with you about not celebrating suffering.

In this case, though, it's just a typo that produces an amusing effect.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone showed this AP story to Novak and he got a good laugh out of it. When I was going through chemo, I welcomed every bit of comic relief.

Your father and I are members of . I'm sorry to hear he didn't make it. ((()))
