1. On the other hand, self described "progressives" never tire of bashing Democrats.
They're a particularly whiny bunch those progressives, tiresome, boring, self-important and highly inflated.

27. A quote from Frederick Douglass
"If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning."

That is what Fred Said.

31. So that makes the Democrats, er, "regressives"?
Democrats have always been liberal progressives. So if they are not liberal progressives, what does that make all of us?

3. It's the same on the other side.
The republicans take plenty of their voters for granted as well. That is what long term marriage is about!

23. Wrong. But also right.
The democratic candidate won the 2000 election. The democratic candidate won the 2004 election. Neither put on particularly good campaigns but still won their elections. Bush stole both elections with vote-rigging.

But you're right about the need to pull together. Because these fuckers will try to steal this election too. The only thing thing that might prevent it is to have a sufficiently large majority that their vote-rigging isn't enough to cancel it out. But I'm not optimistic, because I think they don't care if their attempts are exposed. International observers, on seeing the large disparity between exit polls and election polls, said that the election was stolen (because exit polls reliably track election polls to within a couple of percentage points, except when there is vote rigging). The Rethugs said that exit polls were no longer reliable indicators. Americans just shrugged their shoulders, those that even knew of the controversy in the first place (which wasn't many).

21. Me too. Total Left-wing DINO here.
But I'm pretty sure all Democrats are DINOs these days, because I'm not sure what Democrat is anymore besides a name and a repository for people who aren't fascists.

19. Well they could pander to you and lose everytime
I'm progressive but I also know that most of the nation isn't or doesn't realize they are yet. We have to break the Republican strangle hold on peoples minds if we are going to have true progressive candidates win.

Hell, if we're lucky, we might even get a right-wing mandate.

Some Independants, like me, are more progressive than most Democrats.

But, I agree that it is sad and pathetic.
