Victims of this kind of gas theft will likely end up paying for a lot more than just the gas.
“A gas tank might be $500 or $600 plus another $300 in labor and easily $100 in lost fuel so an expense could run close to $1,000,” explained Tim Middleton, a Service Technician with First Choice Auto Service.
AAA-a says since you can’t lock up the bottom of your truck like you can a gas cap, it's up to us to keep our cars where the crooks can't get them.
