$400 million poured into the "drug war" in Mexico
But $400 million in drug-war aid just approved by the U.S. Congress doesn't require the U.S. to independently verify that the military has cleaned up its fight, as many American lawmakers and Mexican human rights groups had insisted.

Instead, the money comes with few strings and no yearly evaluations — exactly what Calderon wanted.

--------

$400 million dollars; enough money to feed and provide healthcare for thousands of suffering Americans, enough to provide proper healthcare for a lot more of our wounded veterans, given to Mexico--no strings attached. Four hundred million dollars wasted on fighting a "drug war" that wouldn't *exist* if our stupid government would admit that the "War on Drugs" is unwinnable. It's not MEANT to be winnable; it's meant to be a legal reason of last resort for the government to search your house, car, and/or person at will. When in doubt, claim suspicion of drugs.

I'm so damned sick of this.

2. Coming to America
Yes, there's no doubt that dangerous drugs make their way to us through our Southern portals. But I'm tired of having American dollars being spent to fight the drug war "over there" so that we won't have to fight it here. The drug war is about as successful as the war in Iraq.
Spend that 400 million within our borders on solving our own drug problems. Let other countries enforce their own laws. If there was not such a big market here, the drugs wouldn't come.
