Dumb questions: Are there bans on sitting on multiple boards of directors or...?
Or execs from one corporation sitting on boards of another? This kind of incestuous behavior seems to be one of the roots of the plundering of formerly productive (in the literal not speculative sense) corporations. Are there any limits on this?

A related point is what limits there are on pols sitting on boards after they leave office. That seems like an even more insidious form of corruption that campaign contributions and junkets.

2. Go to any major corp and look at the CEO bio
and it will tell you what boards they sit on. Usually they will be on a couple. As for pols sitting on them, it is a little known way of scamming the system. Sit on a "non-profit" and collect a wage. I found this out from a guy I used to work with. He was the son of the Alaska State House Speaker, who just happened to be convvicted for taking bribes. Another way they do it is by having a consulting company and "writing papers" for coprorations.

3. This is a very cool site..
if you want to find out what boards someone sits on. I don't know how current some of the information is, but it is a good start when researching a certain someone. Take a look at Sam Nunn http://www.nndb.com/people/459/000031366/

11. yeah, at the very top, supposed rival corporations are all buddy-buddy
and have all these gentlemen's agreements because they realize they are all after the same thing -- complete market control...

years ago, another DUer said major coporations practice socialism much better than any of us worker bees ever did...

4. There are "conflict of interest" policies for board directors, but they're loosely followed.
Edited on Mon Jun-23-08 07:38 PM by TexasObserver
A person can sit on as many boards as will have him or her, however.

14. Go here:
http://www.theyrule.net

Then go to 'Load Maps'.
You'll see several maps of interlocking directorates that users have made.
