1. Does leprosy twist your mind, and cause your hair to fall out?
I'm, just curious because my hair hasn't fallen out yet.

4. No, neither. Now I feel guilty b/c don't want to offend any people w/ Hansen's.

3. I know. I'm reading a history of the Colony on Molokai, HI, and it
mentioned Carville.

For the record, Hansen's Disease is no big deal now -- easily treated once medical science figured out bacteria (!) IIRC it's still untreated in some poverty-stricken countries.

8. It is also important to recognize that what was once called leprosy
was any skin problem that left a permanent rash. The dry skin on my elbows would have once been called leprosy.

9. just that Carville supported Clinton
and somehow we're supposed to tie that to leprosy.

Just more of the hate expressed daily for Clinton and her supporters here.

11. you are correct.
i read "Miracle at Carville" when i was a kid. i suspect this is long out of print, so perhaps this is why more people aren't aware of the treatment center that was there for Hansen's Disease patients.
