does their ideological "side" no favors. The rightwingers in public always suck up to the same people they exploit in private, and they collect a lot of votes that way.

7. I normally don't mind harsh editorial cartoons but that first one is offensive.

  It's just beyond poor taste, regardless of what you think of him. It's simply offensive to depict something like that visually, in an editorial cartoon. Likening anything to 5 1/2 years of active physical torture...well, a good cartoonist can do better than that.

  I have similar feelings about depiction of prior rape or lynching in similar circumstances.
