Yet I haven't heard a peep from traditional Catholic women who cover their heads in church. Are there not any left?

For those who might accuse me of... whatever, even my great grandmother and all of the others I've known born well before 1900, as well as those in the Orthodox churches *know/knew* it's a symbolic gesture and a sign of respect, not "Teh Word of Gawd".

It's a tradition and something that helps ground them in their faith - unlike "some" cultures that are more interested in keeping their women under control (I had a female, Iranian as a boss once and never respected a manager more - she'd have kicked the Taliban's collective asses to Mars). None of my female forebearers weren't the boss at home, so I understand the role. "Yes Dear/Honey" is *always* the appropriate answer.

BTW, I'm getting one of those scarves ASAP and will wear it at the earliest opportunity. Hell, I may buy some as gifts.
