CNN: Tornado victim had to remind Bush that Americus, GA is the Home of Habitat for Humanity.
Edited on Sun Mar-04-07 10:14 AM by ShortnFiery
Help! I heard this on CNN Headline News at about 7:40 AM EDT today and I can't find a site reference for it. Yet another five star BUSHISM!
-----------------
I was watching Headline News when the (football player looking kind of pudgy white guy) talking head said words to the effect:

President Bush toured the devastation of both the Enterprise, Alabama and Americus Georgia tornados yesterday. He told people that Habitat for Humanity helps people with rebuilding their homes. The President was reminded by a local citizen that Americus, Georgia is The National Headquarters for The Habitat for Humanity. Implication: we already know THAT you half-witted moron!

----------------

Can anyone find a site reference OR did the suits upstairs at CNN order their news models to cease reading us that story?

Edited for clarification: Bush first visited Enterprise, Alabama and then Americus, Georgia. Being in Jimmy Carter's state, Bush should have known that the victims were aware of Habitat for Humanity. I didn't know their headquarters was in Americus, Georgia, but Bush's handlers should have briefed him of that fact before he, once again, made an a** out of himself. ;)

1. Umm, Enterprise is in Alabama....
But the headquarters for Habitat For Humanity is in Americus, Georgia, which was also visited by Bush yesterday due to tornado damage. Enterprise is the AL city where the high school was damaged, and Americus is the GA city where the hospital was damaged....

IF that was reported on CNN's Headline News as you've stated it, it was likely scrubbed due to those factual errors.

3. Yes, I humbly stand corrected ...
Edited on Sun Mar-04-07 10:21 AM by ShortnFiery
I was just up and having my first cup of coffee. In my defense, I think that the newsmodel may have also misspoke. But perhaps NOT. Like I said earlier, I was awake less than five minutes, my eyes looked like two pee holes in the snow and brain not functioning on all cylinders.

However, I corrected my error. One thing's for certain and that's the statement of the newsmodel "a tornado victim reminded President Bush that their town (Americus, GA) was the home of Habitat for humanity. :wow:

Normally this wouldn't be a big deal for the rest of us. But you'd think that good Presidential Assistants would have fully briefed him of that fact? These tornado victims are already hurting bad and to add insult to injury we send Dimson to remind them of "applying for disaster aid" and "getting in contact with Habitat for Humanity."

Chalk this buffoonery to both Dear Leader and his dumb a** advisers. File: INSENSITIVE. :hi:

2. It was in Americus Georgia and
Bush had suggested that they should ask Habitat to come down there - I'm trying to find a video clip. It was another classic example of the ignorance of this moron. Rick Sanchez asked the reporter why no one had told Bush that Habitat's headquarters were located in Americus,Georgia. The reporter ran faster than Asafa Powell.

4. That was great when he asked Habitat to come help,
he should have walked over to the HfH office, cut them a fat check and said thanks, but instead he recycled a Katrina soundbite, hugged a local, and shook some hands.

11. You bring up an excellent point: Bush could have significantly boosted his approval rating
by swaggering into HfH's main office and writing even, say a $100,000 check from his PERSONAL account. My gawd, would people have loved such a beautiful and seemingly impromptu demonstration of compassion and humanity. And we all know $100,000 to the political elite is like $100 to the rest of us (maybe even less).

Thank heavens that Dimson and his handlers are GREED personified otherwise higher approval ratings may have given cover for a Bombing of Iran. ;)

The right wing political elites are so hateful and greedy that they can't even feign small displays of compassion ... not even for publicity's sake ... they're that morally corrupt ... and yes, it is all about THEM and THEIR NEEDS - first, foremost and always. :(

6. I've done all kinds of searches and I can't even find this story in print.
Forget Video, I can't find the reporting of an (Americus, GA) tornado victim informing Dimson that it's the home of "Habitat for Humanity" IN PRINT ... ANYWHERE!?!

Down the memory hole! I guess we all dreamed that Rick Sanchez read the news that way early this morning.

Remember Citizen: All of the USA M$M is, in essence, CNNs (Corporate News Networks). :(

If anyone can find this story in print, I'd be greatly appreciative if you could site reference it here? :hi:

8. I heard a mention of this on CNN last night - the newsreader said it was the
mayor who told him Americus is Habit's home.
Yes, and I thought dear God, who does the cretin-in-chief have working for him? Do they deliberately NOT tell him things so he'll look so flamingly stoopid???

9. Too Funny! The Mayor of Americus, Georgia had to make Dimson smart.
In defense of Dear Leader's advisers, I get the impression that they're scared sh*tless of him going into another one of his hissy fits. I would surmise that the act of reminding him of anything relating to Jimmy Carter (Habitat for Humanity) would fit that bill ... and they just didn't wanna go there. :scared: ;)

It seems that Dear Leader learned his standard memes well in 2005 re: Get registered for assistance and contact Habitat for Humanity.

For the love of everything this is truly moral, why haven't we FORCED our representatives to fully investigate and impeach this entire Unitary Executive Branch? It's like the entire American Populace has taken a stupid pill and gone to sleep. :(

10. Just did a search for more on this - the local paper, bless their hearts, is down:
http://www.americustimesrecorder.com/, and am finding nothing on Columbus (GA) TV...

Didn't B*sh fly all the way down there to basically say "You're on your own, people"? Disgusting, disgraceful, etc etc.

13. Sanchez had run the live video
with someone (Mayor I guess or some superintendant) telling Bush that Habitat's headquarter's was in Americus. He then asked the reporter what I posted above.
