1. I seriously think it is more sinister than that... I think he wants to start a war with....
Iran so that he can use it to declare Military rule.

7. That is so true and been my fear ever since we realized that Congress has...
absolutely no control on this Administration. Basically Bush can do anything that he wants to and no one is going to do anything about it.

10. I tend to agree with your even more pesimistic take.
But then that may not be necessary.

Despite controlling Congress for the past two year, our leadership, including Clinton and Obama, has not addressed the theft of the last two presidential elections, nor done anything to prevent it happening for a third time.

Why stage an obvious coup when the same goal can be achieved through the electoral process?

2. Yep, too bad the democrats don't control congress
If we just had control of congress we could stop this before it happens.

6. When I talked to my sister about the Neocons' plans back in late 2003, she kept saying
"the American people won't let that happen again." And I keep asking her how are 'we' or Congress going to stop it? Bush commands the military. If he were to order an invasion or airstrike against either country, Congress and the American public won't even know about until it's a done deal.

17. Congress has been supporting Bush every step of the way
Even after all of the evidence shows differently, they all continue to pretend Iran is a threat.

The "Iran Freedom Support Act" passed quietly but with a huge amount of support including people like John Conyers.

We need to elect a new Congress

3. I think he and his beloved Neocons figure they have to start something with both Iran and
Syria or they won't be even half way through their list (PNAC).

US Syria claims raise wider doubts
By Jonathan Marcus
Diplomatic correspondent, BBC News

More than half a year after the Israeli air strike that destroyed the alleged nuclear reactor under construction in Syria, Washington's release of what it says are still images of the facility before the raid amounts to the diplomatic equivalent of throwing a very large rock into a deep pool.

5. That might end McCain's chances. What they want is to control the war
Edited on Fri Apr-25-08 09:56 AM by L. Coyote
and they cannot do that, it appears.

IRAN is the distraction from the FAILURE!!
The failures are in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If we attack Iran, the US military will NOT be returning to America.
It will end there, aircraft carriers sunken, Green Zone gone, ....

Every nation in the region, except Israel, will be attacking us.
At the end of the day, Israel may no longer exist either.

There is no way to predict the future, just ways to prevent certain possibilities!!

8. he wants to start war with Iran regardless of mccain, and he can do it
without Congressional oversight, since Congress foolishly passed the IWR, which effectively overturned the War Powers Act

14. If the American Government allows Bush to do such a treasonous
act, then we deserve the misery that such a move will cause.

attack until after it happens.
