Sorry for the rant. I just get sick of all the many, many, many posts on DU jumping to the conclusion that every child is a victim and every police officer is a monster, based on little more than a story headline. Maybe facts like these will help balance that perception with a little dose of reality. I grew up being the victim of more than one 10 to 12 year old bully, and some kids that age are just plain evil and need to be tasered, handcuffed, and thrown in jail.

SOME adults paid attention to the plight of children who are being bullied instead of ignoring them, or serving up hollow platitudes like "Oh, just ignore them and they will get tired of bothering you."

There has to be a middle way between police state and lawless libertarian anarchy. There has to be some enforcement of good behavior, especially among children who are still learning what is and is not acceptable behavior.

kids. Crap like this rolls downhill. About 4% of the population can be legitimately classified as psychopathic, and they're in charge. Everywhere. It's contagious, apparently.
