1. The * Administration Told The Telecoms It Was OK - Not The Government......
there was and is a law on the books for this - if he would have followed it in the first place he wouldn't be in this predicament.

2. Isn't it the ACLU that is going after the Telecoms? The ACLU is a non-profit agency
They are not "class action trial lawyers" in the sense that Bush is trying to infer.

3. Well, see, there's your first mistake
Bush isn't trying to argue this issue, he's trying to demagogue it. It doesn't matter what the facts are, all that matters is that Bush and his pals muddy the waters sufficiently to keep breaking the law. It's not like the people who get paid six and seven figures a year to ask questions have any of these facts at hand, and if they do, they're surely not going to be so gauche as to mention it.

4. There are both non-profit and profit groups
but what's the diff? If * is innocent (heh) the case will be thrown out. Georgie doesn't trust our judicial system.

6. As a candidate, * bragged of how as governor he "stood up to the big trial lawyers."
In other words, of how he carried water for the big corporations against the interests of private citizens. It's an invocation of Shakespeare's "first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers," and it's just as fallacious now as it was in Elizabethan times.
