What is the House of Representatives doing?
H. Res. 493:
congratulating the women's water polo team of the University of California, Los Angeles, for winning the 2007 NCAA Division I Women's Water Polo National Championship, and congratulating UCLA on its 100th NCAA sports national title, making it the most accomplished athletic program in NCAA history

H. Res. 948:
congratulating the University of Kansas ("KU") football team for winning the 2008 FedEx Orange Bowl and having the most successful year in program history

H. Res. 924:
congratulating Iowa State University of Science and Technology for 150 years of leadership and service to the United States and the world as Iowa's land-grant university

H. Res. 1024:
recognizing the 187th anniversary of the independence of Greece and celebrating Greek and American democracy

H. Con. Res. 290:
commemorating the 175th anniversary of the special relationship between the United States and the Kingdom of Thailand

H. Res. 936:
honoring the 200th anniversary of the Gallatin Report on Roads and Canals, celebrating the national unity the Gallatin Report engendered, and recognizing the vast contributions that national planning efforts have provided to the United States

WHY do we pay these people? If they can fire 1000 teachers in California because of budget cuts, I saw we fire all of their asses. We cannot afford this crap.

Why doesn't Kucinich introduce articles of Impeachment of Bush now? It is not like they are doing anything important...

4. good idea
Teachers have inservice days, our politicians need to be re-taught about the job they are supposed to be doing.

I think they are putting something in the water, or through the ventilation system.

There is something terribly wrong with these people.

5. "Off the table" rendered them impotent. Each passing week they prove just how impotent. . .
Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 04:55 PM by pat_k
. . .they are.

It is not their failure to muster a veto-proof majority that renders them impotent.

They are impotent because they refuse to do anything but whine and complain when Bush and Cheney declare themselves above all law.

They are impotent because they refuse to take out the ONLY weapon in their arsenal capable of stopping the bushncheney steamroller.

They are impotent because they have surrendered their power to enforce the will of the people to war criminals.

Bush and Cheney are committing their crimes in plain sight. Failure to impeach is tantamount to exoneration.

Only impeachments says "No!" to torture. Only impeachment says "We will not tolerate the intolerable."

Only impeachment puts the national spotlight on Republicans as they choose -- Defend American Principle or Fascist Principle. Condemn or condone torture. It is far easier to cast a vote in defense of war criminals when few are watching.

Anything short of impeachment is easily dismissed as the "strategery" is is. Even when they force a losing vote to "put Republicans on the record" they accomplish nothing because few are watching -- such empty gestures simply don't garner public attention.

9. Here's a plan for their break coming up
NIXON FLOODING PLAN FOR IMPEACHMENT

Congressman Kucinich has drafted over 50 articles of impeachment against Bush, and he should be encouraged to introduce those soon. The week of March 16-22 is a week when Congress Members are home in the districts. It's also the five-year point in the occupation of Iraq. Why not plan now to pay a visit to your congress member's local office that week?

8. What do you have against Roads and Canals?
Why do you hate America?

What's really annoying (and I don't know if they did it today) is when they get an almost unanimous voice or handwaving approval, some moran requests a real vote. So they kill 15 minutes waiting for a 400-3 outcome. I guess it gets their names recorded as actually "doing something".

10. DK is probably a little busy with day-to-day as well as campaigning
and fundraising to retain his seat. Besides, he introduced Articles for Cheney's ass and what happened? Bunch of morons.

12. Those BS recognition resolutions are nothing new
They've been going on for as long as I can remember.

Doesn't necessarily mean I agree with having to spend time to honor everyone and their mom's little achievements, but I don't think you can fault the current House for it.
