"Rez Dogs" The meaning of dogs on the Blackfeet Reservation
This is a very fascinating little documentary about stray dogs on the reservation. It shows reservation life in it's purest form. Witness the poverty and alcoholism and other socioeconomic issues. I highly recommend watching this. I was captivated. :) -Bill

1. Interesting
I've only seen the first five minutes or so and I have to get back to work. I'll try watching the rest of it later.

btw, I've got a rez dog. She's from Pine Ridge. We got her when her original "dad" was sent to prison and his wife couldn't take care of her. She's a handful and boy, does she love to roam.

2. yeah it's worth it to watch
Not overly professional, lack of close ups etc, but the students did a nice job. Very well done topic.

Oh I bet she loves to roam, dogs from reservations love to wander all over. :) That's cool that you adopted her like that. :)

I'm Arapaho and the Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho go back a long way. We shared hunting grounds and fought and died together. We got her from one of my husband's Lakota friends (who knew the old man that had her). So, in many ways, she's never left the family.

fwiw, she's a White German Shepherd named Skala (Lakota for "very white"). He had had shepherd mixes before and really loved them. He wondered what a pure bred would be like and got her from off the rez. The old man didn't want to lose her so he had her tied up 24/7 in his yard. I think that's increased her need to roam.
