RE “The Prosecution of Siegelman”. I watched the 60 Minute segment twice.

I know some of the people involved and given the many aspects of the case and the limited time available for the TV segment, I would give the presentation an A.

I believe most viewers will agree that Siegleman was a political-assassination victim.

IMO the segment can be used by Congressman Artur Davis (D-AL) et al in congress bolstered by the support of many state attorney generals to finally give Siegleman a fair hearing and he will be exonerated. I hope that happens very quickly.

1. I hope so, too, jody. Thanks for you input.
Hopefully this doesn't go the way of Sibel Edmonds 60 Minutes segment but has a real impact for Gov. Siegelman.

2. I hope this puts pressure on the "Contemptuous Ones" and the White House
to comply with requests related to the politization of justice investigations. They are now numerous.

"DoJ Refuses Turnover of Internal Docs for Controversial Cases"
By Paul Kiel - September 10, 2007 - http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2007/09/doj_refuses_turnover_of_intern.php

Back in July, Democrats asked the Justice Department for internal documents relating to a trio of controversial prosecutions -- cases where suspicions were high of political interference. They were the prosecution of Georgia Thompson in Wisconsin, former Gov. Don Siegelman (D-AL), and Dr. Cyril Wecht, a Democratic coroner in Pennsylvania.

Last week, the Justice Department replied by providing documents -- most of them already public case filings (although there was one telling email). The Department did not turn over documents that Congress was really after, internal memoranda discussing the cases .....

3. If they can do this to a Governor, none of us are safe.
I've never been more ashamed of US Justice, since this administration has turned them into their own private legal firewall.

4. Don Siegleman is quite simply a political prisoner
The entire case stinks like rotting meat. The fact that two Republicans with a conscience risked their careers to speak out is telling.

I hope this wakes up enough people to do something about a clear case of injustice.

If this collection of malignant cells aren't destroyed, they will KILL US.

We missed them forty years ago.

We can't afford to do it, again.
