Big NEWS DUMP: Our government admitted today that they TORTURE.
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 05:21 PM by tekisui
If this were any day other than Super Tuesday, it would be all over the.....wait, no. If it were any day other than Super Tuesday, the US doesn't torture, never has, never would.

Guess what, it's openly admitted now, and when will we get Impeachment Hearings? They have admitted to violations of International Law and violations of US Law and violations to the Constitution.

C'mon Nancy, NOW IS THE TIME!

IMPEACH '08!

10. Not 3 TIMES, but 3 VICTIMS (multiple times) - they'd love for us to think it was only 3 times
Just wanted to throw that out there, as I'm sure Hayden is trying to plant that seed.

And of course, I don't believe it's only 3 victims either.

43. "we just wanted to" is right!
Everyone knows that torture doesn't work, and is highly illegal.

There really is no other reason, these sadistic bastards just wanted to get their kicks.

5. CIA says used waterboarding on three suspects
http://www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSN05191813

Hayden admitted it.

WASHINGTON, Feb 5 (Reuters) - The CIA used a widely condemned interrogation technique known as waterboarding on three suspects captured after the Sept. 11 attacks, CIA Director Michael Hayden told Congress on Tuesday.

"Waterboarding has been used on only three detainees," Hayden told the Senate Intelligence Committee. It was the first time a U.S. official publicly specified the number of people subjected to waterboarding and named them.

Critics call waterboarding a form of illegal torture. Congress is considering banning the technique.

Those subjected to waterboarding were suspected Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and senior al Qaeda leaders Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, Hayden said at the hearing on threats to the United States.

He said waterboarding has not been used in five years.

8. There's that phrase again
"a form of illegal torture"

Because there exist a form of legal torture?

That's the implication...

46. banning waterboarding
(Critics call waterboarding a form of illegal torture. Congress is considering banning the technique.)

Hopefully Congress will do this. Then Bush can put a Signing Statement on declaring he is above the law as usual, but he would then admit the Torture he says "we" don't do - and be solely responsible for authorizing it.

America uses "enhanced Interrogation" which is legal.
That is the end of this debate.
