"Epidemic of Junk Medical Lawsuits?"
Last I checked, malpractice suits accounted for only about 1% of health care spending. Health savings accounts? He's still pushing that BS? That only works for people who can afford to save, ASSHOLE!

1. Tha amazing lobbying power of doctors
They cry that malpractice is killing them, as they drive off in their Mercedes convertibles.

5. It's not the doctors you should worry about as much as the insurance companies
They made their money, dammit, and they're not about to hand it over to victims of their own malfeasance because some pencil-pusher denied a claim from someone who needed a liver transplant and died because it never happened.

6. It isn't the doctors, it's their malpractice insurers.
For years they've been claiming medical malpractice lawsuits have been *ruining* doctors by forcing them to pay such high premiums, when in fact the high premiums were the result of the insurance companies gouging the doctors to make up for their own stock market losses. The reality is that in most states something like 90% of all medical malpractice trials result in defense verdicts.

2. Any lawsuit against a health insurance company for a doctor's malpractice is junk
Doctors never make mistakes and, even if they do, it's a junk lawsuit if you file it against their malpractice insurance.

That is one of the most absurd things I've ever heard coming from a politician's lips.
