4. This letter doesn't address the cost issue.

Which makes me wonder if he is just sending a letter or actually sending money as well. From the looks of it, he is asking the SOS to use his "constitutional authority" to conduct the recount. IMO, with this Gardner-dude, that won't happen.

5. He's asking that the State pay for based on the evidence so far.
Prediction: The State will deny him, based on the
evidence so far.

6. They should not deny.
The recount that Dennis began has thus far identified major inconsistencies.

The state has an obligation to its citizens to find out what went wrong. A statewide recount is only ordinarily ordered when the candidates are within 1%, but it's clear from the recount thus far that their processes can't guarantee a count accurate to within 5%.

8. They'll deny it.
They will say the tally of total votes is only slightly off. Not a wide enough discrepancy. Even Dailykos has a front page article about how this process was good because now we can all trust the machines. I'm not kidding. Unbelievable.

9. I told you (the collective "you") that this would happen.

I told you (the collective "you", not the personal "you" ;) )
that this would happen; this was the risk of screaming
for a recount where there was likely to be no fraud to
be found.

10. Exactly. Even the cut open ballot boxes don't appear to be a problem
in some peoples eyes. :argh:

13. Well, it might have been better to analyze an obviously-stolen election.
I can think of a one or two.

11. How can one confirm the total tally by counting only a small set?
It's kind of like shopping at a grocery store in which some items ring up 10% higher than advertised and some 10% lower - but you don't get a receipt.

What? It all evens out in the end, stop whining.

2. Putting my money where my mouth is
sent some more money Dennis's way yesterday, for this and other reasons. Why can't the DLC do the same?
