6 inches of snow possible in central Alabama
BIRMINGHAM -- The weather service said central Alabama could receive as much as 6 inches of snow by Saturday afternoon from a storm that resembled the one that gave the state its last big winter blast 15 years ago.

Just heard on the radio that it's the worst in 18 years and they are going nuts. It has been awful cold here in AZ this winter too.

3. Don't forget that it was also snowing in Iraq.
Yes, in Iraq. I think it happened a week or two ago and I heard about it on NBC Nightly News. They said Iraq hasn't seen snow in nearly (or slightly over) 100 years.

Things have certainly been screwy this year.

4. Meanwhile, London (UK) had an overnight *low* of 56 Fahrenheit
which is, not surprisingly, the highest ever January low in Britain.
