I find it odd and ironic that the Rutland Herald had "151,000 Died In Iraq" on their front page of its 1/1-1/08 issue, when all I have read and heard for the last month in many major TV networks, newspapers and magazines is: Iraq is finally becoming safer and less war-torn, that peace seems to be on the horizon. Is the Herald trying rekindle negativity in its readers regarding our country's purpose in Iraq and play devil's advocate?
There seems to be a light at the end of this long and ardous journey toward peace. I think it's time to focus on all the positive that is happening in Iraq and not get people so depressed with morbid data from the past, which only invokes feelings of hopelessness in its readers. It's time to put the accent on a better tomorrow for Iraq.
