Admit it - When it's all said and done
Admit it - when we are all done kicking, screaming, and flaming each other over the democratic candidates - we will all be backing whoever gets the nomination

Recently, I caught a re-run episode of "Young Indiana Jones". He was captured by Poncho Villa and joined him to "free the people, restore the land to the people....etc"

In one scene poncho and his men raided a farm, took the farmer's chickens and told him "we are doing it for you"

Indie apologized to the farmer, tried to explain they needed the chickens for food. The farmer told him "when I was young, someone came through my village, took all the chickens and told us they were fighting for us. A few years later someone else told us the same thing and took our chickens, and now you are telling me the same thing and you take my chickens...."

no matter who is running for what office - they all tell us they are doing it for us and in one way or another they take the chickens.

so who do you vote for? the one who takes the least amount of chickens

we believe the dems will take the least amount of chickens - so admit it - whether the nominee is Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Kuchinich, Richardson or Gonzo
we will be supporting that nominee...

Gonzo for President - because he loves chickens

1. screw gonzo. he's wrong on health care, and can't spell war. we don't
need another 8 years of that.

2. Yes, you're right.
Even though I'm rather discouraged about the candidates we have to choose from (particularly Hillary and Obama), I will be voting for our nominee in Novemeber. Any Democrat will "take less chickens" than a Republican.

5. knock me over
that's about where I'm at too. As far as I can see, the Clintons implemented every crappy policy that got us where we are. Sure, Bush went hog wild, but we'd have ended up here eventually anyway.

6. get ready for election loonies - part two
this is where the Greenies emerge and start telling us to vote for their candidate

and then the flame wars start about 3rd party candidate steals votes from 'x'

I've been voting in presidential elections for over 30 years - starting with the Carter-Ford matchup.

It wasn't until 2000, that I actually voted for one of the major party candidates - Gore, not because I liked Gore, but because smirk-boy scared the crap out of me. (up until then I've voted for Nader, or any other 3rd party candidate as my way of saying NONE OF THE ABOVE)

in 2004 - I voted for Kerry, not because I was enthralled by Kerry, but because smirk-boy had to go.

It's now 2008 - smirk-boy will be gone shortly after November 7. I'm not thrilled, enthralled, nor impressed with any of the dems. So once again my vote in november won't be FOR the Dem candidate it will be AGAINST the republic one.

let me make one more observation - doesn't matter who gets elected in November - they will also need a congress who are willing to work with them - not in a rubberstamp manner, but a congress that is able to roll up their sleeves and take their job seriously.

12. I said in my post I would vote for Hill if she is the nom
It will be my last vote for a democrat for a while though.

Only one thing will be able to change that and that would we what I consider a highly unlikely event, a hillary presidency that completely refutes what I suspect she will do in office. That will take time to prove to me though and in the mean time i will be looking for somewhere else to place my support or just go back to the bliss of being an ignorant American when it comes to politics.

8. I'd vote for her, not work for her
No I'm not a Hlllbot. Most any Dem candidate I would have worked for, not Hillary. She'll get my vote, but I can't go around telling people wonderful things about her. I'm not a good liar.

9. Nah.....I'll go bowling if it's Clinton
We'll deserve what we get at that point. I held my nose and voted for a pro Iraq war canidate in 2004. I'll be damned if I'll do it again.

11. Perhaps
I'd like to think it would, but it's moot because it didn't happen because he was a weak canidate as I fear(know) Hillary will be.

19. I agree, nominating Hillary would be a mistake.
But I'll still vote, even for her.

13. At this point I'm just about halfass wishing
that the pukes keep the presidency and not any puke but the worst one they've got, because the revolution will be just around the corner and that's the only way anything is ever going to get changed.

15. Well you just might get your wish. Anyone think the repugs won't try
their particular brand of election fraud yet again?

Probably doesn't matter who gets the nomination.

I bet they'll make the election just close enough too steal it one more time.

And then say that we weren't ready for a black president or a woman president or a populist progressive president.

And they'll get away with it, again.

14. I haven't even pickled a candidate yet...
Just a little off topic here...

I bought the 'Young Indy Chronicles, Volume II-- The War Year's a few weeks back and DA-YUM!!! What a great adventure series! (I'd give a toe to have the actor's hair...)

Back to your OP-- seems to me the Democratic voter base is as excited and as riled up as the GOP base was in the '94 mid-terms. I'm more excited than I was in 2000 and 2004 and I haven't even pickled a candidate yet!

And I'm pretty darned confident that we take the White House regardless of the eventual Democratic nominee. :)
