... how it all works and why. Ever since her article "Baghdad: Year Zero" (it's worth looking up), I've been a huge fan. The only other people off the top of my head that deliver her kind of intelligent view of "the forest" is Greg Palast, Noam Chomsky, and John Perkins.

He is a super good ideas/social comment guy too. He had a show a while back called CounterSpin on CBC that I was totally hooked on. Fantastic show - nothing close or like it on american media for it's real and open discussion on important issues in a town meeting kind of set up.
Avi's father, Stephen Lewis, has been in politics for many years and has done great work for awareness of AIDS in Africa.
