FBI still wants their man: DB Cooper
How's this for a New Year's resolution? After 36 years, hundreds of suspects and thousands of leads, the FBI still wants to solve the case of D.B. Cooper.

On Nov. 24, 1971, a man calling himself Dan Cooper hijacked a passenger plane, traded most of the passengers for $200,000 in cash and then - en route to Mexico - parachuted from the plane in the pitch-black night, in a driving rain, wearing loafers and a trench coat at 5,000 feet.

Many believe that Cooper was Richard McCoy, a Vietnam War veteran, experienced parachutist and BYU political science student who staged a similar hijacking several months later. But the FBI says McCoy - who was killed in a shoot-out with law enforcement officers after a prison break in 1974 - simply didn't fit the description of Cooper provided by two flight attendants.

"The case remains unsolved," the bureau announced in a posting on its Web page, www.fbi.gov, on Monday. "Would we still like to get our man? Absolutely. And we have reignited the case."

9. Do you ever pay attention to the PA announcements in airports?
If you sometimes wonder why the airline pilots are laughing as they drag their bags from gate to gate on an aircraft change, they probably are .. like me .. counting the ubiquitous and incessant PA announcements for D.B. Cooper: MR. COOPER, MR D.B. COOPER, PLEASE PICK UP THE NEAREST BLUE PHONE FOR A MESSAGE. DAN COOPER PLEASE REPORT TO THE DELTA LOST BAGGAGE OFFICE NEAR CAROUSEL THREE! Etc., etc., etc.

It was especially funny in the old Pittsburgh terminal, where the PA lady had a Cockney accent.

Actually, you don't hear it as much in these mirthless post-9/11 days. Too bad. It used to make the tedium of life in the air terminal almost bearable. But then there was the food ..

10. Uh oh.. I may KNOW who it is..
I have a bowler on my league who always pays in $20s and they always have a distinctive moldy smell to them.. I can always tell which 20s are from him..even in a stack of $4k..

He and his wife actually quit the league and only rejoined late in the season.. When they paid, I took a twenty down to his old teammates from last year and said "Guess who's back".. The guy started laughing and said his name :)

I'm guessing they have a stash of cash somewhere very damp :)

13. Things have sure changed in 36 years
Now, we have a corrupt, paranoid Republican president, we are trapped in an unjustified foreign war, and the FBI is looking for DB Cooper.
