A New Years Message from Ralph Nader (and Salt Lake City Mayor)
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 12:43 PM by Leopolds Ghost
Note: Nader has apparently endorsed "Anyone But Hillary".

He will not run third party if John Edwards is nominated.

I got this e-mail from the Maryland Populist Party which I'm affiliated
with as a registered independent (Becausee per George Washington,
I don't believe in government recognition of party registration.)

A New Year's Message from Ralph Nader, Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson,
and Matt Gonzalez, former Board President
of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors

"Do you really believe if we replace a bunch of corporate Republicans with a bunch of corporate Democrats that anything meaningful is going to change? This has to stop. It's that simple."

That is our simple New Year's message for 2008.

Millions of Americans will be watching Iowa and New Hampshire to determine whether the Democrats will propose meaningful change. Hillary Clinton is an unacceptable candidate to large numbers of independents, Democrats, and third party members.

As of last June, more than 150 top corporate executives had raised money for Hillary Clinton's campaign. Who Business is Betting On, Fortune Magazine, June 26, 2007. Fortune also reported "safe to swim signs are sprouting up all over Clinton Inc.," and that she touted "what is probably the broadest CEO support among the candidates," even more than Rudy Giuliani. The Nation magazine reported Hillary Clinton's "advisers in her inner circle are closely affiliated with unionbusters, GOP operatives, conservative media and other Democratic Party antagonists." (Hillary Inc., June 4, 2007)

If Hillary Clinton prevails, millions of Americans will look elsewhere for change, or stay home.

It's that simple.
Happy New Year.

2. Actually he endorsed Edwards, not anyone but Hillary
From the CNN political ticker

In an interview with the Politico, the consumer advocate urged liberal Iowans to "recognize" Edwards by "giving him a victory." He added that Clinton would "pander to corporate interest groups" if elected.

Nader, who has long said Democrats and Republicans are almost indistinguishable, called Edwards his party’s "glimmer of hope."

Nader is a controversial figure within the Democratic party – a liberal icon who is blamed by some for Vice President Al Gore’s loss to George W. Bush in the 2000 presidential race.

Nader has said before that he is not a fan of Clinton or Obama.
"The issue is corporate power and who controls our political system and it's not who has experience for six years or two years," he said, alluding to an ongoing debate over experience between Clinton and another Democratic presidential hopeful, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

5. Threatening to unleash the Republicans on the USA is terrorism.
He does not seek to win the election, but to unleash destruction if his terms are not met.

9. That makes the DLC a terrorist organization, I guess,,,
For losing 2 elections in a row with weak, right-pandering, GOP-enabling candidates.

Looks like they're hoping for a terrorist trifecta by foisting on the Democratic party yet another Clinton?

11. so Al Gore was a
weak, right-pandering, GOP-enabling candidate. I thought he ran a poor campaign, but this is a bit over the top.

Is this the new gospel according to Obama?

The most perfect society the world has ever known.

Whether or not you like Nader and what he has done/says he will do, he is right. Electing corporate owned politicians is the problem, whether they be republican or democrat

14. In 2000 I voted for both HR Clinton and Ralph Nader...
In 2008 I hope not to vote for either, but I might vote for one and it won't be Clinton.

HRC in 2008 = Bush in 2012.

15. Bush - Clinton - Bush - Clinton - Bush?
Could it really be that simple? A behind-the-scenes biumvirate?

Like the pact Reagan made with Khomeini?

19. Behind the scenes?
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 04:30 PM by JackRiddler
I think it's an in-your-face scam run by a single party of shareholders in the Coke-Pepsi (Bush-Clinton). Neither rules, so they're not any kind of umvirate. They're just two reliable service providers whose first job is to render the presidency irrelevant as a threat and useful as a facilitator to a group of interlocking imperial and corporate interests: war, the covert policy complex ("intelligence"), drug war, banking, centralized mass media, energy, the homeland/security complex. What's behind the scenes are these common shareholders.

20. Hear, hear.
When they get tired of Bush -- Clinton (Coke/Pepsi) they will
introduce a series of manufactured "independent" candidates,
like the Coke / Pepsi owned "alternative beverage" market.

it's already happening with Bloomberg.
