Kennedy on Telecom Immunity
by BarbinMD
Mon Dec 17, 2007 at 11:34:48 AM PST
From the Senate floor, Ted Kennedy just cut through all the crap:

The President has said that American lives will be sacrificed if Congress does not change FISA. But he has also said that he will veto any FISA bill that does not grant retro-active immunity. No immunity, no FISA bill. So if we take the President at his word, he's willing to let Americans die to protect the phone companies.

A-freaking-men.

experience, I have come to dis-believe in the DLC. That's the nicest way I can put it. So, as I watch Reid... unless he has some trick up his sleeve that will work in our favor ... I want to flip him off as being a DLC operative. For me, that has come to mean - works for Republicans - the corporate side of the Republicans.

I always assumed the DLC was on our side (my painful learning experience). Is Reid DLC?

leader.

If you are not scared to frame it that way, that is.

Just b/c it's great doesnt mean DEMS will run with it- that is one thing I've learned.

Even still- great talking point.

21. Kennedy also was the first to say BEFORE 9/11, but
It did not get the attention it deserves. BEFORE 9/11 eliminates ALL of the "extraordinary times" BS of the GOP and DEM appeasers.

Before this jerk leaves office, I want a stack of vetoes on his desk piled to the ceiling. A paper trail of obstructionism sends a mighty potent message to the electorate.
