Impeachment would take up too much time and they wouldn't get anything
else done? can anyone tell me why they are in such a hurry to pass their shitty "compromise" legislation? As far as I can see, they're not getting anything done anyway. They are caving on every issue. I'd rather they just stopped now, quit trying to pass anything since they always "compromise" and end up screwing the country in the long run.

What does this Administration have on these guys? Whatever it is it must be good.

1. My guess, and it's only a guess
...is enough of them made themselves complicit in BushCo's criminal actions by upholding "secrecy oaths" instead of speaking out. You don't make a very credible witness (or prosecutor) when you admit to knowing about a crime years later, but you did nothing to call attention to or stop it.

2. Probably right, not to mention how many of them are getting rich off this war.
It's just depressing to realize just how totally corrupt the whole system is and how ambivalent the American people are.

3. Those who understand how corrupt the system is believe they can't do anything about it
And with the number of enablers and just plain ignorant voters out there, they're right. Those who recognize 1) this isn't a party issue but a systemic problem, and 2) the majority of candidates who get elected are part of the problem, are few and far between.

4. I'm supporting Edwards because he's saying the right things but I think he was also
part of the "problem" when he was in the Senate. I would support Kucinich if I thought he had a chance in hell of winning.

5. They're not caving on every issue. They showed the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years.
"President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low, and he prevailed on only 14 percent of the 76 roll call votes on which he took a clear position.

"So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes. That marks the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."

Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority.

Plus if they did pass anything what would it matter while the Bush admin continues to destroy everything else and it's all related in one way or another . Getting them impeached would at least stop further damage in the next year this admin will still have the control . It makes no sense at all .

it's like getting a new stereo when the tires and brakes are shot .
