Bush is the Scarecrow
The original straw man. Light a match. Start the impeachment hearings.
Democrats will lose if they don't do this now.

1. No he's the tin man. No brain. Cheney is the wicked witch.
I agree with starting the impeachment hearings. Do it now Dems. Impeach them both.

5. While I'm emoting....
There is no good Republican...no one honest or uncorrupt. Why does
the media pretend there is even a race here? Huckabee is hardly a
real Christian. What's his name is a fucking Mormon, unelectable
in the real unBush world. McCain sold his soul long ago to Bush.
I don't even remember the other candidates. Get real. Vote for the
candidate uncontrolled by the DLC.

Why in the hell does Chris what's his name have his own
show on MessyNBC? And I'm finding it scary that below this post
is an advertisement for eBay and the Wizard of Oz....how things
have changed.

11. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, ...
Edited on Fri Dec-07-07 09:12 PM by TahitiNut
The essential lesson of the Wizard of Oz is "we have it already"! It's not "out there" - it's inside us. All of us. (Except Cheney/Bush, cronies, and their flying monkeys.) The scarecrow HAD a brain. The lion HAD courage. The tin man HAD a heart. They were all fooled into thinking otherwise. Each and every one of us lives in our own "Emerald City." (There's no place like home.)

It's in every one of us ... to be kind, to be brave, and to be wise. It's a matter of believing it and CHOOSING to do it.

That said ... Impeach. Remove. Indict. Convict. Imprison. (Rinse. Repeat.)

13. Hey TN
I understand but it has been evident from the
beginning that this administration has operated behind
the curtain with the corporations and lobbyists pulling
the strings and the media too afraid to lose their jobs
to counter the lies.

16. I know ... but I treasure the moral lessons underlying the Wiz ...
Edited on Fri Dec-07-07 09:27 PM by TahitiNut
... where the characters of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, The Lion, and the Tin Man are all striving to be EVERYTHING they can be. Cheney/Bush fill their worlds with envy, deceit, greed, malice, and self-centered ignorance. They strive neither to learn nor to love nor to serve values greater than themselves.

Even at 64, I regard the Wiz as precious ... a terrific "morality play." The Scarecrow deserves my love and respect, not my condescending disregard.

I appreciate all the help I can get, so I hold the Wizard of Oz dear.

But ... YMMV. :dunce: Carry on. :hi:

14. Bush as scarecrow always makes me think of this...
"What would you do with a brain if you had one?"

Mind you, I know he's got a brain; it's just what he does with it that makes me ill. :puke:

15. It scares me when politicians think they are on a holy mission...
Gads, why is Mark Shields still on the Lehrer show?
He makes me wince every time I hear him. And that
moron Brooks with too much media power...there are
smarter people in this nation to speak on air.

17. Dem Pols remind me of that clerk-US soldier in "Saving Pvt. Ryan"...
who was so paralyzed by fright, he let a nazi soldier slowly knife his fellow US soldier to death right before his eyes.

And, like in that movie, the Dem Pols' reward will be that, so long as they don't do anything principled or brave, they'll be allowed to go on living.
