Mitt does not believe DNA Science.
He said that he believes his Mormon teachings. Mormons believe that Missouri was the Garden of Eden. Homo Sapians originated in Missouri, not in Africa, according to the Mormons,. Also, Native Americans were descendants of the Hebrews, according to Mormon teachings. This contradicts DNA Science. People can believe whatever they wish to but to even consider a person as Pres. that discounts Science is lunacy.

But what scares me more about Mittens is that he looks like he'll be another puppet for the Cheneys, Bushes and PNAC's of the world.

4. I don't believe it either, because I believe in the Virgin Birth, as a Catholic.
Or so your logic goes.

10. Unless you can explain how DNA is compatible with that belief.
Only one parent with no Y chromosome, JC should have been an exact clone of Mary Madonna, including gender. That is, unless the Holy Spirit has its own DNA. If so, why would a spirit need a chemical blueprint for building a corporeal copy of itself (which could not really be a copy since the HS is incorporeal?)

Of course it is not even necessary to consider all of this. First, the virgin birth is a result of a mistranslation. The writer only meant Mary was a young woman. Besides, the story is too unoriginal to be credited as having originated with Christianity.

The Book of Genesis clearly states that the Garden of Eden was between the Tigres and Euphraytes (sp?) Rivers.

7. So, if elected, or if the vote is stolen for him, and if he uses Exec Priv as liberally
as Dick/George, then all the accused who got out of prison because of DNA will have to go back if he chooses to declare that DNA does not apply through Exec Priv?

14. Well that's nice. Can we expect his first act as president, if he is elected,
will be to issue an executive order to all law enforcement that DNA evidence is NOT valid and is NOT to be used in ANY criminal cases?

Can we then expect him to issue another executive order that DNA evidence is not to be considered or used in any civil litigation, including determining paternity in order to enforce child support?

(crickets chirping......)

22. Fundies of all kinds can be so selective in their medical and science
beliefs. They don't believe the world is any older than 6,000 years, but submit themselves to medical testing using radioisotopes based on the same science.

I really enjoyed the caller to Mike Malloy's show last night. He is a grad student, has studied world religions, pursuing Theology doctorate, refers to himself as a Christian, but calls the apple/snake/Eve story bogus. He seemed to have a handle on integrating faith with reality.

25. How is that different from now?
You already have a president who discounts science. And he's not alone either. According to the figures I have in front of me, around a quarter of the country (not of Christians, of the country) are Biblical literalists. Around 40% don't believe in evolution and we're not talking about quibbling with the details, they just flat out deny it ever happened. Masses of people in the US (and a worryingly large number in my own country) don't believe global warming is happening or don't believe that humanity is mainly to blame. Huge numbers of them still think that being gay is a choice (I know the science isn't entirely settled on that one but it's looking extremely likely that it isn't a choice).

26. I'm just laughing at how all these religions are crucifying each other

I mean, when you get crazy, babbling-in-tongues Pentecostals like Al Sharpton implying Mittens ain't a real Christian, Huckabee claiming God moved him up in the polls, Catholics complaining about Mormon underwear when Catholics have a leader who runs around in pajamas and slippers all day, Catholic fundamentalists like Pat Buchanan complaining about Huckabee, Jewish fundamentalist claiming to be entitled to own a crappy speck of desert in the Middle East, Protestant fundamentalists like John Hagee pushing Jews to migrate to Israel so they can be killed by God in Armageddon, Christians of all stripes condemning Muslims, Muslims blowing up infidels, Shi'ites and Sunnites killing each other, Puritans hating on Quakers, Southern Baptists condemning pacifist Mennonites during World War I, I could go on and on.

Religion really brings out the bullying, hypocritical, inner child in fools.

A pox on all their houses.
