Bush writes to N Korea leader

George Bush, the US president, has sent Kim Jong-il, North Korea's leader, a letter telling him he must make good on his promise to reveal all details regarding Pyongyang's nuclear programme.

Gordon Johndroe, a White House spokesman, said Bush has written to all six countries involved in talks surrounding the deal.

Christopher Hill, the US assistant secretary of state, handed the letter for Kim Jong-il to North Korea's foreign minister on Wednesday.

Earlier, Hill, who is in Beijing to brief Chinese officials on his three-day trip to North Korea, had made no mention of the letter.
