I have not yet picked a Dem candidate.

Let me first say that I will vote for ANY Dem who wins the nomination.

The reason I have not yet picked a candidate is that I care more about which of them can get elected than I do about their policies. I believe that another Republican in the White House at this time would spell the certain and total destruction of what is left of our democracy.

All of our candidates have big pluses and minuses, (which is to be expected), but I've yet to be swayed by any of them.

Hillary: Probably the smartest candidate and has the best oiled political machine. We know that the stereotype “toothless redneck” won’t vote for her, but will his wife?

Obama: Charismatic, energetic and ready and willing to “Change the world.” And anyone who thinks that racism is a thing of the past is brain dead. Are there enough sane people to put him in the White House in the general election?

Edwards: I like his “two-Americas” pitch and I think he’d really try to level the playing field. However, with Anne Coulter, Maureen Dowd and others fixated on his hair and calling him a “pretty boy” or “gay,” has he already been “swift boated?”

Richardson: An honest man who might make a good president. But I think he’s made it a bit too apparent that he’s really running for VP or a cabinet post.

Biden-Dodd: Admirable. Knowledgeable. Sane. Experienced. Long in the tooth. Might be viewed by many as the “Bob Doles” of the Dem Party.

Kucinich: A maverick. Truly liberal ideas that he would do his best to implement. Media has painted him as a caricature ala Michael Dukakis in a Snoopy WWI helmet riding around in a tank with a UFO over his head.

Yet every one of these people stand on a mountain that looms over the sewer in which each and every Republican candidate dwells.

I have no idea which one of them will nail down the nomination. But as I said at the beginning, he/she will be the one I’ll back. And knock myself out to help them win the general election.
