McCain in Chicago, skips 'meaningless' Iraq vote
http://www.suntimes.com/news/elections/261493,CST-NWS-McCain17.article

Stumping in Chicago on the eve of today's U.S. Senate vote on the war in Iraq, Republican presidential hopeful John McCain asserted he's skipping the "meaningless" vote for the campaign trail.

McCain (Ariz.) told reporters at a Friday night awards ceremony in the Loop that returning to Washington, D.C., to vote on a non-binding resolution critical of President Bush's troop surge is "a meaningless exercise fraught with partisanship."

The rare Saturday session for the procedural vote was called by Democrats, who need 60 votes to advance the resolution criticizing Bush's plan.

3. Jesus, the man is a walking wind sock.
If he really believed we should 'surge' in Iraq, he should have been on the Senate floor, making a barn burner speech and voting against it.
