Over 47,000,000 ...time to wake up!
An email I received this morning....

Yesterday we get the new benefits plan at work and I see my out of pocket premiums have shot up 10.54% for medical and 4.56% for dental. Then they will give me a 3% raise and act like I should be grateful. Next week we will have our Quarterly meeting and it's anticipated that corporate profits for my company will increase between 11% and 12%. Now, you don't need to be a math genius to conclude that I; like most other Americans, am getting screwed.

Makes me want to yell at the top of my lungs, "WAKE UP YOU F*&KING BUNCH OF SHEEP!" Not one of my co-workers said anything about this, it's like Night of the Living Dead! They're all a bunch of zombies!!!

It could be worse as we have now shot up to over forty-seven million Americans without health-care, this includes millions of children. Since Bush has taken office over 3.4 million children have been added to the list of uninsured...Ya gotta to love those "family values"...

I won't even go into what it's going to cost to heat our homes this winter! Basically, if you heat with oil you are fucked!

1. I think 47 million is a low number. It's been the number cited for years.
As more jobs leave the country and people scramble to make a living off part time jobs, more and more are without health insurance. If you happen to be self-employed, ever diagnosed with anything, or past the magic age, you can forget about being able to get health insurance. A new Republican talking point is that half the 47 million are illegal aliens . . . I swear I heard it. If we are unlucky enough to wind up with another Republican administration, there will be no healthcare reform to speak of. They'll give tax incentives - maybe - which will only help people who can afford insurance already. We have to get a Democrat elected, otherwise we're dead . . . literally.

6. Yet
The Today Show's "top headlines" this morning were as followed....Heather Mills, Brittany Spears and the football player and the college student who was tasered says he's sorry!
A great big negative from me...where's the OFF button. I can't stand it!

2. ZOMBIES!?! Were they like that just for Halloween?
Or is it that way all the time?
I've been canvassing alot the past few months (for our Dem candidate for Gov) and I sure ran across alot of pissed off people. What is lacking is organization.

3. My employer is asking for body fluids
Our insurance has always been free to the employee. This year, in order to continue receiving it for free, we have to give blood and urine for a "wellness check". If we refuse, we have to start paying $10 a month. Initially they told us $120 a month. Then so many people complained that they said 'oops, it's $120 a year'.

4. wellness check?
And if you should test positive for high cholesterol or diabetes...your out the back door for "inadequate performance issues". Right? Happened at the local library where I live... an employee who was there for 22 years was "let go" for poor performance. Only the community has rallied behind her. Still hasn't been resolved...

5. My friend who barely weighs 100 pounds
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 07:26 AM by proud2Blib
was told she needed to lose weight. They also said her cholesterol was high. She said yeah, cause I just ate lunch. Dumb shits didn't even make people fast before they checked cholesterol. They also told my friend her blood pressure was too high and she needed to go to the doctor ASAP. But they wouldn't tell her just how high her blood pressure was!

Here's the best part - the people doing the 'wellness check' weren't even medical professionals. They worked for the insurance company.
