Obama is proving not to be ready for prime time
At one point a few months ago I was strongly considering supporting Barack Obama for the nomination. I thought of him as "Kennedyesque"--new, exciting, somebody who would bring a fresh pulse into politics. But, unfortunately, this has not been the case. I came to this conclusion even before the latest regarding the anti-gay rhetoric of his favorite gospel singer at an Obama rally in South Carolina.

He has been, overall, not the exciting presence he was at the 2004 Democratic convention. His debate performances have been listless. His campaign unfocused. His attacks sometimes backfiring and showing his inexperience on the national scene.

I guess it was too much to expect that a relatively new Senator whose electoral triumph in 2004 was over the self imploding Alan Keyes would be ready for prime time. I still believe he could be presidential material one day, but he needs more seasoning. At this point I'm not even sure he would be the best bet for Vice President.

(for the record I'm supporting Dennis Kucinich).

3. I have to agree. It's really not fair to expect a freshman senator to go up against
those who have so much more experience.

I really like Obama and I think it would be ideal if he could be VP this time around, then run for Pres. when Biden's terms are up. :7

After a few more years under his belt, he'll be more savvy and have developed more of a history with the rest of the congress.

My hope is that he doesn't continue to make "newbie" errors in judgment.

7. I hope you are not suggesting I'm on the Clinton payroll
or is this something you have proof of? or do you have to be a Clinton supporter to think that Obama isn't quite ready?

8. I'm not suggesting you are.
It's just another meme pushed by the Clinton campaign.

6. The bloom is off the rose. Obama's poop stinks, after all.
Back in '04 I though he'd make a good VP someday.
Looks like that's off the table now too.

9. Maybe we need a new perspective.
Maybe his inexperience, is a good thing. Maybe he hasn't completly sold himself out yet.
