For everyone complaining about the Democratic Party and "no leadership"
go out and support Kucinich. He stands for changing the things you are all complaining about. Put your money where your mouth is.

1. Already done
but he's already marginalized.

Damn, I hate when someone picks my leaders for me.

4. I agree he is marginalized (sadly)
but if the alleged "millions" of people who are sick of the Democratic Party being too corporate or spineless actually got out and supported someone who actually represents their interests, AND also threatened 'economic sanctions' (boycotts, etc) of media sponsors, he would be a lot better off. Maybe.

I just hate all of the negativity around here and I am a born cynic.

8. People don't want to believe that the top tiers are doing what they are doing
I pound pavement in my area, and I've lost count of the times people have said "Hilary will be perfect!" I explain what her platform points are, and they say "No! She wouldn't do/say/promise that!" I then send them the press releases from her site, and after the required protest of "this isn't legit!" they often are quite upset.

Face it, people are happy to vote for the "image" that is projected by the candidate, and are less concerned with the reality...until they get it.

13. He'll never be a serious candidate...
perhaps it's media collusion or something else, but here just yesterday I read that Shirley MacLaine is writing in her book that DK saw a UFO on her property. You can't have crap like that floating around and expect to be taken seriously.

I considered him in 2004, but I realized that he's just not ever going to make it in the mainstream. Facts is facts.

3. and how many years has he been in Congress?
As much as I like K, he's right smack dab in the middle of THIS do nothing congress right NOW. Why should he be given a pass? Campaign *promises*?

The whole lot of the *candidates* get flunking marks for what is happening NOW.

5. ok, to counter, what is his voting record?
he voted against the Patriot act and has been against the Iraq War since day one.

Do you expect one congressman to be able to outvote the rest of Congress?

18. let me put it this way:
dennis ain't no bernie sanders. Now i'm voting for him in the primary because I like his ideas, but i'm under no illusion that he's either an effective candidate or would be an effective president. Both take more than having good ideas.

10. The big complaint is that people now realize they are not the
government. Dennis Kucinich is the only person that's agreeable to me. But the problem is that corporate American will make goddamn sure he isn't elected.

Corporate America owns us all!!

Americans do have a choice of toys that are available

12. He's not the only one...
there are some Democrats stepping up to the plate. Waxman and Conyers come to mind.

14. I agree. I love what Waxman Conyers and some others have been doing
I just meant as a Presidential candidate. What sucks is, we have a slim majority and an opposing President who won't budge or meet us in the middle, and a party which seldom votes exactly along party lines. In fact, some of the losses we've had, have been close where most of the Democrats voted the way we want them to - but the whole party gets thrown under the bus.

19. Already doing that
I will be attending the caucuses and standing for Kucinich. If he does not get enough people, I will stand down entirely rather than shift to someone else. THAT is democracy.
